Even if they don't get it out, they will still say they did...that's almost as good to start rehearsals, no??? (Yes, I am kidding).

Personally, the more I think about this, the more I am thinking early summer, assuming a vaccine starts getting distributed in early 2021. People gotta get the vaccine, before they can start rehearsals...will Broadway be a priority (particularly if the idiot gets reelected, God forbid)? But, audiences need to be vaccinated in sufficient numbers that make opening up economically viable. It only depresses me to say this, but unless there is a vaccine miracle (and I agree there are a lot of hopeful signs), that seems realistic (vs. optimistic) to me.

Are there solo shows that can turn a profit in a quarter filled theatre (including investment, unless someone with big pockets donates the funding, and the unions give some concessions)? Maybe they can be pilots. However, unless a big star signs on, I can see a lot of people just shrugging and rationalizing 'I have waited this long, I can wait a little longer to see something I actually want to see'. (Don't know about you, but there are not a lot of one person shows that I really liked a lot...Clarence Darrow and Barrymore immediately came to mind, and both had pretty big stars and still didn't sell out. Maybe if Bette decides to revive her Sue Mengers play?

But that is what is confusing to me. Most of the people I see not wearing masks and not practicing social distancing, I would classify as someone who voted Democrat. I know that is a generalization. But they are definitely not Republicans.

Walmart requires their employees to wear masks. I spotted at least 20 employees today, either not wearing a mask or wearing one, but around their neck. My pharmacist today, had his mask around his neck.

I have to say that is not true where I live. I actually have a friend who was accosted in the local Publix supermarket. Why? A person NOT wearing a face mask came up to him -- invading has personal space, let alone 6 feet (it happened so suddenly, he did not have time to react) -- and asked in an aggressive manner whether he was a Democrat, since only a democrat would feel a need to wear a mask. I kid you not. My friend actually lied and said he was a Republican who cared about his health, to avoid further confrontation, given the lack of a mask, etc.

Sad times.

It is sad but I believe it will be the new norm at least in NYC for now as buildings will not allow you in the lobby, elevators, common areas or office. Nobody likes change but we will adapt to wearing a mask as we must here!

Offices in NYC are going back to work in phase 1 in about 2 weeks by June 15...20% of the workforce is going back working in the office-rest staying at home...WE have to wear MASK at work per company email. Entering the building, elevators, common areas and at work. It's a MUST per corporate -it's not a Democrat or Republican issue but a health concern issue that we must obey by. So, we will wear a MASK enough said no questions!

It's not about political affiliation, it's more about being educated and believing in science.

"Definitely"? Seriously? So you can just look at a person and tell they aren't a republican because they're not wearing a mask? Trump doesn't wear a mask and he's certainly a republican."

Reread my post instead of trying to be grand. Jarethan stated "there are 2 America's right now" Which implies the Democrats are wearing masks and the Republicans, supporting Trump, are not. A huge generalization and is not true. Many are not wearing masks and it has NOTHING to do with their political party. So to respond to your post. Yes...definitely and seriously. I can. I was at Hamburger Mary's last night for Drag Queen Bingo. A gay bar that serves food. Other than the servers, I was the only one wearing a mask. The attendance of the bar was 70% gay. And again NOT wearing masks. Are you going to tell me that all the gays last night, not wearing masks, voted Republican? Seriously and definitely....I knew they were Democrats. That is why this notion that all Democrats wear masks and all Republicans don't wear masks is just dumb, bias and naïve. And yes, if I see a person of color not wearing a mask, I can bet they were not a voting Republican. Seriously and definitely.

I'm gay and can tell you that I have other gay friends who are both Red and Blue who aren't wearing masks. Some strongly for it, some strongly against . Party doesn't equal if someone is wearing a mask or not

Stupidity doesn't know race, color, gender OR party.

And that is my point. There are people on here that say ALL Republicans do not wear masks. And ALL Democrats wear them. That is just not true. Party affiliation plays only a small part. Most of these people are not wearing them because they don't care and are selfish and they don't like being told what to do. I'm curious what reason do your Red and Blue gay friends give you for not wearing a mask?
