i have "forget regret" with three small hearts on my shoulder. yes, it's a rent quote which happes to be my favorite show, but i got it right before my divorce was final, so it means much more to me.
that picture was taken the day i got it, hence the redness.

Posted: 11/8/08 at 7:17pmOne night at the stage door for 9 to 5, SJB was coming down the line and this one girl just ahead of me showed her a HUGE tattoo she had on her back: it was a replica of SJB's Elphaba! It took over about a third of her back, and Stephanie herself was so wowed by it that she took a picture for herself (as did a few of the other fans waiting). It was crazy.

I have a butterfly followed by the music for the line "I would know that confidence" from [tos]'s "A Way Back to Then."

Posted: 11/8/08 at 7:50pmWhen I was in line to enter the Royal Albert Hall for Chess In Concert earlier this year I saw a woman, who must have been at least 65 years old, with a large, very detailed tattoo of Josh Groban on her upper arm. The tattoo was very well done but (given the circumstances) a little odd.

I have '525,600' down the side of my wrist. Yes it's a Rent lyric but it's not really because of Rent, it's more to do with the song...the themes going through it and the idea of making every minute count.
My friend got 'la vie boheme' across her wrist, at the same time as me and it looks beautiful.
Its nice because they aren't matching, but there is a connection and mine definitely came at a time of lots of stuff going on so it ties together a fair amount.
I would post a picture, but its not working for some reason.
There are so many more musical lyrics I'd love to get done; I just can't chose.

Posted: 11/9/08 at 1:03pmnot a show logo but I do have the comedy tragedy masks on my ankle. It was really the only thing I could live with for the rest of my life.
re: Broadway Tattoos#34
Posted: 11/9/08 at 1:06pmI think I would get the phantom mask / rose on my ankle. Updated On: 11/9/08 at 01:06 PM

Fascinating, indeed.
I don't know whether I would be honored or skeeved if I were SJB. I guess it is a fine, fine line in a situation like that.

Damn creepy. This is one of those tattoos people regret a few years later.

Agreed, Brody.
Much like my 18 year old brother getting his best friends' initials tattooed on his fingers...the palm side, but still...

"or even some stylized version of "jazz hands"... I will post sketches when I get closer to making my decision"
If you want a stylized dancer type of thing I would recommend looking up some of the Hirschfeld drawings from the original productions of some of Fosse's shows. You don't get more stylized or theatrical/Broadway than that.
re: Broadway Tattoos#40
Posted: 11/9/08 at 6:22pmI am thinking about getting a tattoo that says "No day but today" but in the same kind of lettering as the Rent logo.
"Leave Walt Disney Theatricals new sparkling production of The Little Mermaid on Broadway alone!!!"

I'm another with Comedy/Tragedy masks. Purple, on my right hip.
I also have angel wings on my lower back with a G Clef between the wings. Not really theatre related, but it is musical.
I have two more in the works, but only one of the two is theatre related.

That SJB tattoo is so dumb! It doesn't even look like her! It's just a bad tattoo all together!

OT: I'm going to get one of a soccer Keroppi on my ankle because I love both.
One of my brother's does tattoos and has no problem with the frog but I want to get a Phantom mask with the rose on my hip but since he's my brother, it's too icky of a place for him to see, on his little sister!
The SJB, man, I would have called the cops on her and raided her place! Does that person know what color chones she had on?? FREAKY!! I have my favorite actors but I ain't getting tattoos of them put on me!

Am I the only one who isn't a fan of calf tattoos?
Or feet for that matter

I dont like feet in general.
And personally, I won't have a tattoo in a highly visible spot (ie: arm, leg, neck). All of mine are in places where I can show them if I want and hide them if I need to.
