Indeed. He also added that folks who get cancelled on should considering donating that money to the theater rather than ask for a refund. Would be nice if most of us could afford to do that.
The cancellation was posted on r/broadway as well; according to the poster there: "The individual passing out the notices said that it’s both shows today, with an update to come about longer cancellations."

The NHL just suspended its the reminder of its regular season. Is baseball season going to start? Is Disney World going to stay open? Are these effective gauges anymore?
Safety is the biggest concern. At my school, we’re getting hourly updates from the state, county, and out charter (literally). We’ve been told this will be our new normal until further notice.
The Broadway League has called an emergency meeting today as theater owners and producers consider a proposal to shut down all Broadway productions immediately over coronavirus concerns, staying dark until Easter Sunday, April 12, Deadline hears.
Such a shutdown could see the industry losing well more than $100 million in a month’s worth of weekly box office alone, not counting advance ticket sales.
The League, the trade organization representing theater owners and producers, did not immediately respond to Deadline’s request for comment.
Deadline also hears that the shutdown is endorsed by Actors’ Equity.
"Anything you do, let it it come from you--then it will be new."
