Posted: 7/8/09 at 6:41pmYesterday I bought 4 tickets to "Hair" for this Sunday through Broadwaybox.com using their discount codes. I chose email delivery option. The confirmation email came right away, but as of now no tickets yet and I am getting nervous. How long does it take for them to send out e-tickets ?

The message that you get should have told you it takes 3 days to get the etix.
You didn't BUY them through B'way box. You bought them directly from Telecharge with a code and link from b'way box.
Don't worry...they are entirely reputable.

Posted: 7/8/09 at 7:49pmI am sure they are reputable, but I am just worried because the show is on Sunday. Usually I buy tickets at least a month in advance (or from the TKTS booth), so I never had to worry about that before.

You'll get them before the show. Worse comes to worse you can call telecharge on Sunday and say "I order tickets but never received the email". They'll verify your purchase using your order number or phone. Then they'll have the tickets available at the box office for you.
I once had a friend forget her ticket and realize it once we were enroute and that's exactly what they did for us.

^Eris is correct. They will fix it if they need to...but it should be fine.
I have to admit: if I purchased tix in less than a week's time, I would just have had them held at the box office. (Actually....they way I've been losing stuff lately, that's what I almost always do now.)

I don't trust myself when it comes to tickets and holding on to them before the show. That is always why I have them kept at the box office for me. Even if I go to the box office to buy the tickets for the show in advance they can still hold them for me there without at problem.
Most of the time when I am buying online I am using my parent's credit card and just paying them back and I just change the name of the order so I don't need their card to pick them up.
However, I don't understand why it would take telecharge 3 days just to send you e tickets while it would take someone like Ticketmaster no time at all in doing that. I also have trouble understanding some of the service fees that telecharge tacks on like charging you four bucks to change the name of the order.

Sometimes I get the email with the tickets right away and sometimes it can take three days. But I've always had them in time for my event. And ticketmaster doesn't always do things in the blink of an eye either. I think it all depends on how much traffic there is on the site and other things. This is why they tell you it can take longer. Besides, more people print their tickets at home with telecharge because ticketmaster will mail you your tickets for free.
And any schmuck can buy tickets with someone else's credit card and change the name on the tickets. I'd have to imagine that they charge the $4 to keep people honest and dissuade credit card thieves.

Posted: 7/8/09 at 11:44pmSee, that still doesn't persuade me in terms of why they charge four bucks for changing the name on the credit card. When being done on ticketmaster I was able to call in and say that I was using my dad's credit card and the name needed to be changed to mine and they do it without a problem. I am guessing that for me personally there isn't much of a head scratching going on since my father and I both have the same last name.

Posted: 7/9/09 at 12:11amThat's not the case at all. What I am saying is that I don't see the need to charge for something like that. I can see them calling you and asking for some sort of conformation or something like that. But, to have them charge you just to print a different name on the ticket when they would be doing it anyways seems like another excuse for another pointless service charge. And, I am not trying to be pro ticketmaster or pro telecharge. I feel that both of them are at fault for having service charges that are not needed at all.

Hi,
Listen what you can do-
Call Telecharge at 212-947-8844 and mention the confirmation number. Ask that the electronic tickets will be mailed. Have the operator repeat the email address to make sure they got it right. Before you call, check your spam/junk folder to see if the tickets have not landed there?

Anytime you need to engage a human being requires a fee. Cant' you fix that as you are making the order? (I thought I remembered seeing that as an option....but I could be wrong.)
The real kicker with telecharge and ticketmaster is that they are the only game in town. If you don't live in the city to visit the box office, you are at their mercy. The fees in general are riduculous. It's not as if they don't make money on the sale of the ticket alone.

I've never come across that. I've had telecharge change the date on my tickets without incurring any sort of extra fees.
