Charles Busch will star in a limited engagement of his comedy DIE MOMMIE DIE! this fall at New World Stages. Carl Andress will direct.

Previews will begin Oct. 9 at the Off-Broadway venue with an official opening Oct. 21. The play, featuring Busch as Angela Arden, will run through Feb. 17, 2008.

I have watched the movie, about 10 times.

I love the scene that she says something like "I want to take a bubble bath, and I intend not to be disturbed"

I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!!! THIS IS BEYOND PERFECT!!!!!! I WILL BE IN NYC DURING THAT TIME!!! CHARLES BUSCH IS SO DIVINE I CANT STAND IT. NOW THERE IS A MAN I WILL STAGE DOOR FOR! WHAT A PIONEER and what a hilarious piece of theatre.

um, mr busch makes his living through clever, caustic comments like the ones that pepper this board -- usually wittier than most of ours, to be sure, but essential to his medium.

im kind of done here, but the comment imho was iwell within bounds, for busch and for BWW. you want nice, the mormon visitor's center is on bway and 69th. :P

and i cant WAIT to see this production!!!!!

i am hardly a mormon. and though mr. busch's witty slurs are common in the plays he writes, i dont think its appropriate.

but like everyone else on these message boards, to slur, to make fun of, to belittle is the rage. Lets talk badly about legally blonde, xanadu, grease, any disney show. lets talk badly about everything and anyone who isnt patti lupone or sondheim.

and of course, say all the bad things you want about me.

i take no offense. happy 16th birthday to most of you.

Ok, I'm gonna have to make a trip to NYC to see this. I love the film and Charles Busch is one of my favorite actors/performers.

I've just gotten into "Oz", and from what I've seen of his guest role during Season 3: love it!

I walked out of DMD in LA at intermission because it was SO BAD.

Bert, I wasn't being rude. I was being truthful. He is NOT getting any younger and to be honest, the last few things I have seen him in were pretty tired. His schtick is getting rlly old now... Old drag queens do not make a fun evening. And sorry, but its just my opinion.

Mary Martin played PETER PAN. Cathy Rigby STILL plays PETER PAN. Carol Channing still plays Dolly Levi. Yul Brenner was the King of Siam for YEARS.

I can think of COUNTLESS examples of actors who are not the exact age of the
character they are playing.

Its theatre. These people are theatre legends. They transcend age!
