I tried to post a link to this article, but for some reason I couldn't do it. But go to CNN.COM entertainment section. It is a good article on the success of CHICAGO.

That same article was in my local paper just a few days ago.

I need to address a few parts of this article.....
"There are times we can't find stars. So we go to the best that's available for the show," Weissler says.
Okay, I find that to be a total slap in the face to the people who are NOT big names, who have starred in the show and SOLD IT OUT. (ie: Roxane Carrasco, Tracy Shayne, Deidre Goodwin, Michele Pawk, Eric Jordan Young) Especially when, 9 times out of 10 the "non-stars" have been 1000 times better than the "Weissler Casting Specials."
Weissler took a chance, asking Griffith to appear in "Chicago." At first, she turned him down, but later when Banderas appeared set for a stay in "Nine," the producer brought the subject up again.
A clear sign that EVERYONE knows how close Melanie wants to be to Antonio...
According to Weissler, the actress thought, "'Why not? He (Antonio) will be here and I'll be here and I'll bring the kids back and forth.' So it had to do with him and it had to do with her wanting to be on Broadway. So much of all this is timing. So much."
Okay, that is SOOOOOOO the wrong reason to take a part in a Broadway show.....
(Ann Reinking on choreographing the show 'in the style of Bob Fosse')"If there is a heaven, I think Bob can look down and be satisfied," Reinking has said. "He really did have an exponential effect on the next generation of choreographers and dancers."
Look down and be satisfied....? Look down from heaven and be satisfied with what has been done the that show?.... I'm surprised he hasn't started huring lightning bolts at Annie yet.
If in Heaven you don't excel, you can always party down in hell...
