This was posted on the show's Facebook page. Didn't she previously say she had no plans to see the show? What made her change her mind?

And yeah, she did.
What made her change her mind?
I'm guessing the upcoming Tony nominations.

A woman's prerogative.
She so did! None of the cast knew she was seeing the show, she surprised everyone onstage during the BC/EFA speech. She raised over $30,000 for the charity and even sang "You've Got a Friend" onstage with the cast. What a class act.
I bet the cast was shocked to find out she watched the show! So cool!

Beautiful message from Carole_king telling me she went to see Beautiful tonight & LOVED IT! We're thrilled she felt that way! Luv her!
She went on stage after the show so that's a good sign that she probably enjoyed it. She didn't run away from the theatre as the curtain fell

From this evening, everyone seems genuinely shocked.
Carole King Sings "You've Got A Friend" after Beautiful Performance
I'm so glad to hear she went. I recall reading she didn't want to go because she didn't want to relive the painful parts. But it makes me happy to know that she went and supported the cast. Good for her. :)
I remember reading something in Riedel where Cyndi Lauper approached her and told her she needed to support the show come Tony time.
Judging by that video and the tweets, it seems like really nobody knew she would be there and it was a true surprise.
Just watched a video. The cast seemed truly surprised. I am KICKING myself for not seeing this over Rocky when I was in the city a couple weeks back.
Saw it a couple a weeks ago, loved every second of this "Beautiful" Show.
When she takes Jessie Mueller's hand, it's really beautiful.
And I love the way she includes the cast and then the audience and then makes it about the cast again--the whole cast.
Loved it. A BEAUTIFUL way to begin my day.
That was a great moment captured on video. So glad I got to see it! Very uplifting.
Wow! How lucky the 4/3 audience members were to attend that performance!
What so impressed me was when the entire cast sang 'their bit', EVERYONE was just so musical/on the note and each did their own minute variation. The way Ms King worked with the conductor-who was so brilliant to follow and keep it all together and finished together was just WOW to me.
You might say 'they are all professionals' but the fact that that impromptu worked so effortlessly just shows how talented they all are and just why they are up there on that stage.
It's simply great for the cast & the show that she showed up & supported them. What a special night.
2 days late and 2 dollars short but I've finally gotten around to watching the video.
It was nothing short of amazing.
I'm glad Carole changed her mind and decided to go see the show. I'm sure it meant so much to the cast.
I'm going to see it in a couple of weeks.
There is another video on their official YouTube account.

I'm going back to NYC in November and I'm very excited to see this show. My mom is a huge Carole King fan, so I grew up listening to her... I know most of her catalog by heart lol. Love her.
