The casting notice on Playbill says some roles have already been cast and that there casting for Ensemble and Frank Jr. Anyone know who's already been cast? Anyone going to the Frank Jr. casting?
Nathan Lane and Louise Pitre will be returning as Carl Hanratty and Paula Abagnale respectively, roles they both played in the show's recent workshop. Tom Wopat is also returning as Frank Abaganale Sr.
Brenda is the only other principle character that they've cast. Annaleigh Ashford played the role in the workshop, and though I heard the creative team wanted to use many of the people who participated in that incarnation again this time around, I haven't heard whether or not she will be coming back.
As with ANY casting of ANY show - nothing is 100 percent until a contract is signed. And even then things happen.
^ kind of glad.
I hope they go with someone youthful looking.
For Frank Jr., they are most likely going to cast an unknown.
Open calls are being held in New York, Chicago, LA, and Orlando looking for someone to play the role.
^ Thats a great idea. I think they should.
Or tear one of those Spring Awakening kids away from their ensemble gig.
I've done regional theatres, college etc and hmm maybe I could do this since I live near Orlando. And then I thought WOAH ITS A LEAD?! So I decided no.
I'm sure they are looking for guys that are thin, good looking, leo type with professional training. That aint me :)

Hey, I was thinking of going to the audition. It's fairly close to me, so why not... a hell of a lot closer than NYC at least lol.
Question: For an audition, do you just need to bring a resume, headshot, and 16 bars of sheet music (if your auditioning for a musical)? I am not in any actors Equity or any other Union.
I think it says it on Playbill. But my question. Backstage says "Frank Jr 18+" Playbill says "20's"

When are these open calls in each city?
sleepyguy1717, the open calls are scheduled for the following dates: LA- January 11th, Orlando- January 17th, New York- January 19th, and Chicago- January 23rd.
Keep in mind that all of this casting is for another reading of the show, set for February 25th through March 8th in NYC. Though there's a good chance that alot of the same people will end up continuing into the full scale production (as has happened thus far,) nothing is certain.
That would be awesome, he is perfect!

Erich Bergen is NOT playing the role of Frank, Jr.
I havent done alot of work and I'm not the best looking thing but I am 18 and who knows they might need me one day. So I've decided to send my stuff in.
Also, I didnt think he was since they are CASTING for the reading.
Where do you find this stuff on playbill.com

Thanks somethingwicked. I might just be there. :)
Quick question the Orlando audition info on playbill says that they are only Frank Jr and not ensemble members. Does that mean they only are casting there for that role?
Sorry just found the info out.

I was asking someone but I was able to figure it out myself. Thanks for wanting to help though

It appears they are casting for Frank Jr and singers in general.
I would hope Ashford is coming back, just so she could take on something more serious. I am sure Jerry Mitchell is an Annaleigh advocate.
