I'm very impressed.
Aaron looks like such an awkward dancer.
But those were fine clips. Nothing amazing though.
You do remember that Aaron had to dance his way through Hairspray as Link Larkin, right?
"Needle in a Haystack" lasted 8 performances. Officially cut as of tonight.
Loved the songs (I've got Live in Living Color stuck in my head now), loved Aaron and Norbert, but I HATED, HATED, HATED that design. I sort of hope they rethink that before it gets to NY, but I doubt they will.
Between these clips, Fly Fly Away, and Goodbye (my favorite song I've heard from the score thus far), I am getting excited for this show.
It's so bland. Does anyone else think (design wise) that it looks kinda cheap?
I was not at all impressed by the clips. Perhaps I was even less impressed by Jerry Mitchell's choreography (I've never been a Jerry Mitchell fan). What is with the snapping and clapping thing during "Live in Living Color"? Aaron and Norbert, especially Norbert, look and sound great though.
dramarama2, I agree that the design (scenic and costume) looks cheap. It was very bland.

Not impressed by the clips. I'll still give it a whirl IF it comes to Broadway, but I don't expect it to be a long running smash based on these clips.
I like the use of color in the design, but I don't like how cheap and bare the stage looks.
Looking good to me! This BETTER make it into town!
Looks like a lot of high energy and a great cast to boot. I really hope this transfers to Broadway. Does anyone know what the reason/reasons are that there hasn't been a date set for Broadway? Is it a theater issue?
I assume they want one of the larger houses, and the one that was to be available, the Marquis, has just been apparently grabbed by Minsky's. My guess is they're holding out for the St. James, Shubert, or Broadway, if Finians, Memphis, and Shrek don't make it. I suspect at least one of those houses will be available by January, so they won't have trouble coming in.
Meh?
I'm not gonna like... I'm not sure how I feel about this..
Riedel's "network of theater spies" had very encouraging things to say about Catch Me, in his column today (and not very encouraging things to say about First Wives Club).

It looks amazing! I can't wait for this to transfer to Broadway!
From all of the poster reviews, it sounds like an amazing show!
I really wish they would post clips of Goodbye and Fly,Fly Away to hold us over until the transfer!
From my understanding - the Seattle production is a regional production produced for a fraction of what a Broadway production would and could be. So it's safe to assume that there would be changes made before it hit Broadway.
I also think it's hard to get anything more than a glimpse of a full production based on a few short clips without seeing it in context.

It looks like a lot of fun. I look forward to seeing this on Friday night.

This is misinformation. The number was gone last Friday 7/31 when I saw the show.
It's so good to see Norbert singing and dancing again.
Seems like a fun show...I too was a little hesitant about Aaron's dancing even though he's my fav, but the more i looked at it, I think I just don't like the choreography...I'm not overly impressed but i'm impressed enough that i'd see it (who am I kidding, with Aaron and Norbert in it, i'd see it anyways).
In the full clip of "Live In Living Color," Aaron Tveit's shirt collar alternates from popped to folded down between shots.
It definitely looks much better folded down.
It looks rather bland and boring to me. I don't remember any of the songs, and it just looks a little thrown together. I know I'm judging it off those clips, Craig, but isn't that the point? Those clips are meant to peak my interest, but instead they've turned me off the show. I'd still see it if/when it comes to Broadway, but I'm not eagerly anticipating it either.
I just rewatched and was still unimpressed.
I'm still going to see it when it comes to NY but...eehhh.
I just got my info from a cast members twitter, saying it was "officially cut" last night. They probably tried it last week to see how it worked and liked the change.
