Not at all. But it was definitely taken down a step.

What is Lane joiining on the 22nd? He never seems to stay in Chicago very long.

Pretty sure ACL2006 was referring to James T. Lane leaving, and Matteo Lane starting on June 22. Too many Lanes to not be specific.

Actually it’s the third Lane

Nathan Lane and he’s performing as Amos after Death of a Salesman concludes its run

#3907

Current Principal Cast

No, no, no, it’s Lois Lane who’s coming in as Roxie.

James T. Lane is going into Ain't Too Proud at The Muny. Wonder if he'll return to Chicago.

Didn't Nik Walker just start?

Yeah, Nik was there for a month and is leaving early for Shrek. But I'd assume that was contracted in when he signed up for the role

Lane has always jumped into Chicago when he's available. Whether it's as Billy Flynn, Amos or an ensemble track. But he's up there in age, so I'm wondering how much longer he'll try being a chorus kid.

Caught Miss Rodriguez's first performance tonight and she was marvelous!!! You'd think she was a month into her run, her Roxie was so fully realized. Definitely a fantastic reason to return, and I'm so glad I did.Current Principal Cast

According to Telecharge: Krysta Rodriguez will continue as Roxie until August 16th. Interestingly, J. Workman is listed as Mary Sunshine without an end date. (It's kind of sad not seeing Ryan Lowe's name on the cast list.)

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' Who all has seen Krysta Rodriguez as Roxie? One person has mentioned seeing her and thought she was good. Anyone else?

Danielle Marie Gonzalez (Velma Kelly understudy) will be Velma Kelly from July 4--9. Kristen Faith Oei is the current Velma Kelly, as Sophie Carmen Jones enjoys her vacation. By the way..... I saw an article on BWW that Whitney Leavitt would love to return to Chicago......as Velma Kelly.

Leavitt is a serviceable Roxie. Don't think she could handle the more difficult dancing and singing required of Velma.

I am guessing that the Weisslers would welcome that possibility. Leavitt bring$$$ in the crowds to see the show. I agree that Velma is a difficult role. But, she could surprise people. By the way, I can't remember the last time Chicago had a celebrity Velma (for the very reason that the role is very demanding).

https://playbill.com/article/video-theres-history-in-the-outfit-and-newness-in-the-role-krysta-rodriguez-talks-playing-roxie-in-broadways-chicago This is an interview with the lovely Krysta Rodriguez. The interviewer was J. Viscaino. I think she came across very well with her responses to the interviewer's somewhat iffy questions. Towards the beginning, he was interviewing her and came up with "a survivor of SMASH". I don't know if he was trying to be witty, but it seemed a bit off putting to me. As far as I can tell, this person didn't smile once. One of the interesting points of this interview was find out that Rodriguez has a passion for interior decorating, specifically dressing rooms. I thought that was interesting. He kind of put her in a corner by asking who was the greater villain: Ivy Lynn or Karen. She replied "Karen", mentioning Eve Harrington in All About Eve. They went into great detail about dressing rooms. It would have been appropriate to have seen a picture or two of Krysta's dressing room at the Ambassador (unless permission was denied). Krysta had a lovely beige colored dress. One of the last things he mentioned was "stop using beige". He could have said "that's a lovely beige fashion choice", but didn't. I realize some of the banter between them was tongue in cheek, but I really wasn't impressed with the interviewer....at all. When he asked the question: "Do you take me seriously as a journalist"? I wanted to respond: "NO".

Krysta is wearing pants and a top, not a dress. Aside from that, you seem to be reading too much into things.

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

I don't particularly care of J. Viscaino. Watching him interview Krysta was kind of uncomfortable to watch. Not because of her, but because of him.

I am surprised by the low grosses at this point in time. In previous years, you'd have figures much higher than the current numbers. (I remember one week that had grosses in the 300, 000 range.) My guess is that the producers will want to have Whitney Leavitt return as soon as possible, even with playing the role of Velma.
