With regards to the special Chicago performance at the Tonys, I am hoping that Pink will perform as Velma. In some ways, she reminds me of Robyn Hurder.

Y'all know that many a gay has played Billy Flynn right?
Comics are performers putting on a persona.
Matteo studied voice as a teenager.
I'm sure he'll be fine.

Mr. Flynn's flame is going to be very high.

I'm looking forward to the special 30th Anniversary Chicago segment. In particular, the IG acct for Chicago has hinted at an appearance by Krysta Rodriguez as Roxie.

I know. My very first Billy in 2011 was Colman Domingo.
But Matteo is not primarily known for any legitimate acting. He is a stand up comic who also creates YouTube content and podcasting. The amount of acting that it’s going to take to make him into an unscrupulous lawyer with the ability to woo women (and the public) is going to be a STRETCH.
Vocally, I have no doubt he will kill in the role, but since his voice training has primarily been operatic, why not let him at Mary Sunshine? The operatics and camp of the role are totally already in his bag?

Or the producers will just let him be a major flamer and just have him gay it up for laughs.

Chicago has a way of making unconventional choices in casting for principal roles. The choice of Matteo Lane is someone who I never expected as Billy, to be quite honest. Some people believe he will only perform in an expected way. He is obviously a very talented person who will surprise his critics.

Odd that Matteo Lane is the line that's going too far with casting when there have been multiple Housewives, Mormon Wives, and various other unproven actors/dancers/singers plugged into virtually every role in the show.

For about the 20th time, today is Ryan Lowe's last show with Chicago. Additionally, long time swing, Jennifer Dunne, is also leaving the show. No word who's coming in starting tomorrow as Mary Sunshine.

Jayke Workman is back as Mary Sunshine for "the summer". Nicole Benoit has returned as a swing through July 5.

Ronnie S. Bowman Jr. is a new cover for Billy Flynn.

I believe he's replacing James. T. Lane. Bowman begins June 22.

Mark Ballas returns as Billy Flynn from July 20 - August 16.
Do we think Whitney returns as Roxie with him?

Lowe got a send off in February when the other 7 cast members left. I don't think he was originally scheduled to return, but the producers must have had a gap to fill. He ended up missing about half of his shows for the month he was back.
