After further research, Hamilton currently ends March 22 and Something Rotten currently starts March 23, so maybe he is leaving Hamilton midway, or probably backing out all-together.

I believe his role in Hamilton is fairly small, though. He may be able to do both.

This is the show that Fun Home will be competing for best musical, especially now with these 2 amazing actors as the leads. All of a sudden the season got somewhat exciting!

gstrus, careful with your sweeping generalizations. If you had done more research, you'd know that Hamilton is in tech. He won't back out this late in the game. (And when Something Rotten was announced to be taking the St James, he was in rehearsals for Hamilton.)

More likely, he will exit early. We'll have to wait for an announcement.

Hamilton was in rehearsal already when Side Show announced its closing. I imagine he'll still continue with Hamilton and maybe leave a week early? Chances are he wants to stick with Hamilton at least until after the critics come, since there's so much buzz around it & the show will probably transfer if reviews are good (though maybe not til next season).

ANyone know how big BD'J's role is in Hamilton?

Also: Wasn't Beth Leavel also in some of the SOMETHING ROTTEN readings? Wonder if she will transfer. Looks like she's stepping in for Carolee for the last 2 weeks of Tuck Everlasting. Nicholaw is also involved with both shows.

Well, since they are making the rare move of going directly from workshop to Broadway with no out of town tryout (has any musical done that since Nicholaw's own Book of Mormon?), I imagine it's a very good show. Or at least the producers really think it is...

I've heard that he's gonna do a Jeremy Jordan Newsies/Smash thing and stay in HAMILTON for as long as he can then start work on SOMETHING ROTTEN! But we'll see--just a rumor.

I love Nicholaw's work - I think he's the one director I would trust to shepherd a musical comedy to Broadway like this.
