First, the "announcer" was Ira Mont, the show's production stage manager, who does a great job. It was completely unscripted, and it has never happened before to this extent (though any show with flying encounters the occasional technical glitch, hey, it's live theater.)
Second, Hex3, I don't know when in the winter you'll be back in NY, but I'd bet good money that the show will be up AT LEAST through the holiday season. So far as I can tell from the weekly numbers, it's been profitable every week since previews started, some weeks more than others. Annie is the show I wouldn't bet will last.
And in my opinion, (Ilovetheatertrash) while not all of Beane's attempts at humor hit home, the show is compeltely charming and romantic, and is well worth seeing. It is certainly not "god awful".
