I'm not sure where to put this but Christy gave out a flash sale code on her Live this afternoon for Jan 8-Mar 17. Code is Christy if you visit the TelechargeOffers.com site. Looks like it only works for Tues, Wed, Thurs shows.

His vocals were definitely weak at times. Christy and/or the orchestra overshadowed him for most of the show which I did not mind because I love the sound of her voice. I thought his weakest song was My Petersburg and his best was A Crowd of Thousands.
I thought his acting was better in Act 2, particularly when he confronted the Dowager Empress. Chemistry with Christy was ok but not as good as Zach or Derek.
I feel like this is a general risk with these limited time stunt casts. Had he been able to stick around for 6 months to a year, I could definitely see him growing into this role with perhaps some formal acting and vocal training.
On another note, I spoke to 4 different people at the show who were all basically there because of Cody. Seemed like close to a full house too. One woman was actually from Australia and she knew about Cody but didnt know about Ainsley Melham taking over as Aladdin. The stage door was packed but not crazy. However, he didnt come out on account of the cold weather. Christy came out about 45 min after curtain and it was still packed.

So I saw Cody on Friday night. I've seen the show 3 times (twice with Derek) and I've never realized how vital the role of Dimitri is to this show until I saw Cody..... because not gonna lie, watching him was an experiment in patience.
He clearly is trying his best, and probably has gotten a lot more confident than before, but it wasn't until his more dramatic scenes during Act 2 did I think he was anything other than terrible. His voice is wafer thin, and his chemistry with Christy is almost non existent. At times he reminded me a lot of high school productions where there isn't any male students available to play the male lead, so they cast the handsome jock just because he fulfills the basic requirements.
Thankfully, like others have mentioned, near the middle of Act 2 he really gets into the zone and does a good job of standing up to The Dowager Empress. Otherwise he is the perfect example of stunt casting that may work in helping boost the box office, but doesn't do anything to change the energy of the show.
I don't mind stunt casting, and sometimes it actually works to benefit the show (ex: Kinky Boots), but when it comes to stuff like this, it just lowers the quality of the show - especially for people like my mom, who this was their first experience seeing it. I'm sure Cody is a cool guy, and he works well within the pop genre (I've never heard any of his songs before), but Anastasia isn't the right show for him.

Why was my comment deleted? I posted here about the April 14 extension last night after Cody posted it on his public Instagram story.
