Not sure what the official wording on the rule is, but I do seem to remember that several shows in the past have been deemed ineligible due to the fact that they didn't run long enough for the Tony voters (or maybe just nominators?) to see them. Some of the titles that I remember off the top of my head: Blonde in the Thunderbird, Oldest Living Confederate Widow, Glory Days (notice a trend there?).

No, it's more complicated than that. I may be slightly off, but I think a show has to have at least 8 performances that Tony voters are invited to. If the total performances, including previews, are less than 8, then Tony voters have to be invited to at least half. I think that's what the rule is.
Basically, it has to be possible and reasonable that the majority of Tony voters are able to see the show.
4 performances??? I counted 8 total.
her schedule is as follows:
Friday, March 11 @ 8pm
Saturday, March 12 @ 8pm
Sunday, March 13 @ 3pm
Tuedsday, March 15 @ 7pm
Wednesday, March 16 - Saturday, March 19 @ 8pm
Oops, you're right. I thought the first post just listed 4 performances. That's what I get for skimming.

Huh, they did take it down. I wonder if someone over there jumped the gun and tickets weren't supposed to be on sale yet. Oops.
The Playbill article states that "according to the performer's website," she will performing on Broadway, but I can't find any info on her website about Broadway at all. Strange.

Posted: 2/9/11 at 4:12pmYep, that's probably it. If you go to the direct link (http://www.telecharge.com/BehindTheCurtain.aspx?ProdID=8449) the event is still there, but the Find Tickets link is gone. I'm sure it will be back on sale soon.

Thanks, Yero! Good to know that I'm still sane.
They better get a move on though, since it starts in about 4 / 5 weeks.

I actually wish Kathy would take some time and write a narrative one woman show. Her bio was really touching and quite interesting. I know she would do a great job and get a Tony nod.
I've seen her stand-up live many times-enough actually. I've grown kinda bored with the banter and the rants. I won't be paying top dollar anymore to see the stand-up.

She could win a "Special Tony Award" that they used to award "Theatrical Events" before creating (and later removing) a category for it.
This is one show that I will be buying full-priced tickets to.

Posted: 2/9/11 at 8:35pmI'm guessing this is a dumb question, and I'm sure I'll get yelled at for it, but how are people buying tickets already? There's no access to purchase tickets on the website that I can find. Calling Telecharge?

Posted: 2/9/11 at 8:38pmWell it's idiotic how people on here complain about things like they're going to be tied down and forced to watch it Clockwork Orange style.

"She needs to play a retarded, homeless rape victim who champions womens rights in a movie so she can get her Oscar next."
To guarantee a win, she needs to play an overweight (fat suit - means she's willing to be unattractive for her art), retarded, homeless rape victim who champions women's rights in a concentration camp (throw a concentration camp in a movie and you get an Oscar).

Posted: 2/10/11 at 12:01amPeople who were able to order tickets before Telecharge took the link down: have your credit cards actually been charged yet? Telecharge emailed me a confirmation email, but my credit card wasn't charged today; should I be worried that they're going to be voiding our orders, since they took the link down and all?
