"Company," "Pirate Queen," or "A Chorus Line"?
#1"Company," "Pirate Queen," or "A Chorus Line"?
Posted: 1/11/07 at 8:21pmI'm planning a trip to NYC the first week of April and can see four shows. "Spring Awakening," "Grey Gardens," and hopefully "Legally Blonde" are definites, but the fourth slot is up for grabs. My choices are "Company," "Pirate Queen," and "A Chorus Line." Any opinions?

COMPANY!!
Although, I haven't see Pirate Queen, so I can't pass judgment on it quite yet. I have see Company though, and it's definitely awesome.

Thanks Caroline and Dancing,
I was leaning towards "Company," but love Stephanie J. Block and have never seen a professional production of "A Chorus Line" before.

Okay, I haven't seen the other two.

I was very dissapointed by ACL, having never seen the original, but loving the OCR.
I've loved Company every time I've seen it.

Posted: 1/11/07 at 8:50pmI have seen two productions of "A Chorus Line" at a non-equity dinner theatre. But it would be nice to see a production that at least attempts to recreate the original production.

Pirate Queen pretty well sucked, and this is coming from a fan of both S. Block and Boublil and Schonberg (sp!!)
I'd see Company...

Seeing the pre- B-Way run of Company I would have to echo everyone else unless it's changed significantly.
Raul is exquisite!

A Chorus Line!!!
Company is also very good. If you can, cancel Legally Blonde and try and see both Company & A Chorus Line.

jpbran - If you're unable to put the accent over Schönberg's name, you'd spell it Schoenberg. Just FYI cause you asked.
You spelled Boublil right.

"Company" and "A Chorus Line" are tied in my book.
See both. Really. See both.
If you're looking to take a 2.5 hour nap, see "The Pirate Queen"
