No, but it's by far the biggest Broadway story of the past few years. While The League and The Wing would be more than happy to ignore it all together, the folks at CBS certainly would like it included somehow.

Will this year's show feature performances by the 3rd national touring casts of Mamma Mia and Legally Blonde again?

If Priscilla does get to perform I'd like to see them do "Don't Leave Me This Way". It features the whole cast, flashy costumes, and doesn't involve bringing the whole bus over. They won't but that's what I think they should do.

Just to be fair, I don't think PRISCILLA has any business performing, either.

I agree with this and I don't agree with this at the same time if that's possible. Yes, a Tony performance is considered a "reward" for being nominated for best musical/revival. But, it's not like Priscilla is uneligilble (I'm looking at you, webcrawler) or has been completely snubbed. I think Tony Sheldon deserves the chance to perform on the telecast. If he had a true solo in the show I would choose that over "Don't Leave Me This Way".

And Sister Act also wouldn't be the only show doing a medley this year...

I kind of enjoyed the Mary Poppins medley a few years back.

Anyway, I'm on the "I wish Anything Goes would perform 'Blow, Gabriel, Blow'" boat. That number looked so fantastic in the previews. I haven't seen any of the shows, but based on clips, the tapping in "Anything Goes" just seemed too long to me. I liked LuPone's "Anything Goes" better. But I feel Sutton's "Blow, Gabriel, Blow" is gonna be phenomenal (I was gonna say mind-blowing, but that was too cheesy).

could one of the 2 songs for Scottsboro and Sister Act be part of that opening medley that was confirmed last week along with Spidey and Priscilla? If this is following in the trend of the last couple of years, that's normally where the non-nominated shows get their chance to perform and might also be why the nominated songs are announcing 2 numbers (i.e. 2009 when Billy did Electricity in the medley and Angry Dance later in the show)
Yes, but sometimes people have a third deeper layer thats the same as the first. Like pie. Dr. Horrible

I really wish How To Succeed would do Old Ivy. It's a hilarious number and a good showcase for the two leads. I thought it was the best part of the show.

Being that there have been Broadway Across America performances in the past, surely it could be possible for this gem to make an appearance... I think the show might make a surprise upset for Best Musical.
A real gem

Even though Sutton sounded excellent on "Blow, Gabriel, Blow," when my friend and I saw it, she mentioned that the number was not choreographed to feel like a star turn [as it really should be], but rather a big ensemble number. I liked the way the choreography flowed better in that than "Anything Goes," but I thought that was an excellent point.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Add a number from the recent Philharmonic COMPANY with NPH, Patti Lupone and the rest of the cast. Guess they want to drum up excitement with it hitting movie theatres nation wide shortly. Looking forward to it!

If Spider man does perform, I hope they don't do Rise Above. I actually like the song but, in my opinion, it works better while actually seeing the show. if they could somehow do a medley from that mess of a score, I would like to see it end with 'Boy Falls From the Sky. I saw it last night and it was the first song in the show that actually caught my attention. Plus it is the song that uses the music we hear in the commercial. JMO

@givesmevoice:

To be perfectly honest, part of the reason that I want them to perform "Blow, Gabriel, Blow" on the Tonys is because I want to see more of that number than what they've show in the Anything Goes preview montage. The chances that I'm ever gonna be in New York at all in the next two years are pretty slim, so I just really want more videos of Broadway shows (particularly Anything Goes). I've seen plenty of "Anything Goes" (the song) floating around on YouTube, so I'd rather not see another one. And as I've said before, I don't find Sutton's rendition of the title song all that exciting anymore (although I really do find her performance quite good).
