Let's pray for Broadway! No way I'll be out on the lawn with the lawn chair and bugs, even free! Wonderful casting news!

She's an ok choice, but not the big star everyone was hoping for. Would have been nice to see Catherine Zeta-Jones do it.

"No way I'll be out on the lawn with the lawn chair and bugs, even free!"

I actually look forward every year to waiting in line in the Park: good times with friends, delivery of something ridiculously unhealthy from Andy's Deli in line, and the great end reward of free tickets to a show under the stars! (A refreshing beer from the concession booth around the last hour of waiting never hurts the experience either.)

A New York tradition I feel every New Yorker should try at least once in their life. That Donna is doing Sondheim in the Park only makes this year so much sweeter.

"The Baker's Wife is being played by three-time Oscar nominee, Amy Adams."

And the Baker's Wife exits the show in the middle of Act 2. Whereas the Witch, who is the star, must play the entire show.

...except she exits shortly after the Baker's Wife dies, not to return until the finale.

The Baker's Wife is a leading role. No two ways about it.

She's a fabulous choice, not everyone was hoping for a bigger star, and thank heavens it is not Catherine Zeta-Jones.

"She's a fabulous choice"

Let's hope she has a good understudy. Donna in outdoor theater are not a good combination.

She's the "big star" I was hoping for.
And when has she done outdoor theatre before?

"And when has she done outdoor theatre before?"

She had trouble showing up for indoor theater. Can she really handle an outdoor venue?

Her attendance record of late has been flawless.

Her attendance problems took place ten years ago and were for very legitimate reasons.

No way I'll be out on the lawn with the lawn chair and bugs, even free!

Umm...you've never been to the Delacorte, I take it, if you think it's people setting up lawn chairs.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Donna had a serious throat issue ten years ago during WONDERFUL TOWN, had surgery and has had a pretty stellar performance record in the shows she's done since.

She "had trouble" during WONDERFUL TOWN because of a hemorrhaged vocal chord. The injury almost ended her singing career. She was very classy about it, and continued to give a great performance when she was able to go on. she allowed producers to keep her troubles quiet, and it hurt her reputation.

"She had trouble showing up for indoor theater. Can she really handle an outdoor venue?"

That line is still being thrown around? Talk about ancient.

"Umm...you've never been to the Delacorte, I take it, if you think it's people setting up lawn chairs."

AC126748: I just assumed he was referring to waiting in line for tickets...I could be wrong.
