I just wanna say that 17.6mil cars doesn’t mean 17.6mil fewer people or ticket buyers or whatever. It just means more people took transit to avoid the cost. It also speeds up the time for those who do choose to drive and pay from CT or Jersey or LI to make getting here a better experience (which seems much more in line with the budgets of stereotypical Broadway audiences)

Excellent. Many lives have been saved by keeping vehicles off Manhattan roads.

Hoo-ray for congestion pricing!

Well, now that that baby's put to bed, lets move on to the next panic on the agenda.

So funny how every time CP is brought up people on this forum will put their head in the sand and rationalize every way they can to say that CP is great for Broadway. "Oh it just means they are taking the train". Um no sorry buddy, they are not. They are choosing to spend their money and time on other things.

Quite frankly Broadway needs to focus on ensuring there is a reliable base of theater lovers in the NYC metro area that can come to Manhattan frequently and on a regular basis to sustain the industry. Making it more annoying and expensive to do so for people outside Manhattan is not a great way to build a long term customer base. And NYC theater should not be relying on the random tourist that comes in once every year or every other year to sustain their audiences.

Lately the numbers are reflecting that NYC theater cannot sustain on just Manhattan audiences alone, whether that be a drop in NYC metro audience numbers or tourists. Earlier this year there was an impressive slate of top notch newer or limited run shows to keep bringing people in. Now that it's a bit quieter we are seeing that staple shows aren't doing too well. But do keep going on about how dumb people outside of Manhattan will just inconveniently take the train or bus in or eat all the higher costs to drive in to watch theater without any impact to the Broadway revenue numbers.

Sorry Buddy. I've been taking the train. Never a fan of generalizations.

Have you ever been on Metro North after the theatres get out?  Always packed with people who have seen a show. I'm assuming the same with the LIRR..

The majority of the people I know it CT that go to the theatre prefer to take the train. It has nothing to do with congestion pricing.

If you’re driving into the city to see a show and willing to pay $100+ parking, $9 is not going to dissuade you.

100% This.

I also just don't like driving in the city anymore. Takes a long time to get anywhere.
