...on its two-week extension!
PAL JOEY Gets Two Week Extension At Roundabout Through 3/1
Congrats! I look forward to revisiting the production!
Woot! They should record it. Damn this recession.
Nice.
Great performances and designs.
Strange new script, but any chance to hear that
Rodgers and Hart Score live in context is fine in my book.
If they asked me.

I am happy about any show extending, but do they really think the show will pull in the same numbers now that the holidays are over? Almost every show went UP these past two weeks. I'd wait awhile before announcing an extention.
absolutely horrific news. if anything, they should have played two FEWER weeks...
paljoey, i'm truly embarassed that you were the one who started this thread...and foster, you liked this production? really??
Hmmm .... didn't realize there were that many Martha Plimpton fans.
Without A Trace needs a spanking again,
he likes that.
It's not perfect but it's an interesting revival
and the Roundabout can afford to do a show no one else can.

At this point signs of any show doing well is good news. Whether you liked the show or thought it was complete crap, this is good news for a troubled industry in terrible times.
Two fewer weeks would not be good news and would further illustrate to investors that it is not safe to put money into Broadway right now.
I second on a recording but then again I think every show should have a Cast Recording no matter good or bad.
Good for them! I'm glad the show is extending, that way the actors and crew staff can have a job longer.

I saw the show on Saturday and thought it was excellent. Yes, the gay subplot was unnecessary, the first act was a little slow, and Channing wasn't a good singer (though she was by no means bad), but I enjoyed the show very much- especially the score and the design.
I loved every minute of that show and hope it gets recorded. I thought Risch was perfection, Stockard was heartbreaking and I cried when she sang (no jokes please). Plimpton was perfection. Watching Pal Joey it really emphasizes how no one writes beautiful music like that anymore and how sad the current state of song writing is. I thought it was divine.
WAT-it is one thing to not enjoy a show, another to spew bile that it should close early. You're a meanie as of late. Even though you hated Pal Joey Im sure you kissed the leads butts when you waited for them to sign for you. You never know who posted and reads on here so be careful.
BettyBoy, I don't believe for one second that anyone could "love every minute" of this piece of crap. You must have been drunk or high when you saw it.
...and I'm a meanie as of late? Over half of my posts in the last month have been gushing about Liza Minnelli. I don't think those posts were very mean.
...and what am I going to tell Stockard? I hated her singing voice? Of course I'm going to have to say something nice to her. Christian Hoff is lucky to have exited this mess of a show when he did. I hope he moves on to bigger and better things.
It just seems you used to be sweeter. Maybe Im wrong.
"...and I'm a meanie as of late?"
...you just accused me of being drunk or high because I thoroughly enjoyed a show. Pretty crass.
Also, the whole "I despise your singing and your show" but please sign my windowcard escapes me.
I'm a meanie as of late?
Now that you mention it...
If the crowds are large enough to warrant an extension, regardless of your opinion on the quality of a show, shouldn't they have every right to give their audience what they want. I've heard good things and I've heard bad things about this production, all from posters I genuinely respect, but this extension should be seen as a positive thing for regional theatre on Broadway.
Hey..CONGRATS to the entire cast!
We can't wait to see this show with Norn two weeks from now and also get a chance to hangout with some of you guys!

This revival of PAL JOEY is a brilliant production and should have an open-ended run at Studio 54.
Better?
Ooh... Are you away from anything metal when the lightning comes down WaT? :P
I'm just shocked that PalJoey and BettyBoy are slamming me for this...I have seen the show twice and am allowed to have an opinion.
I'll stick my nose in:
I don't think they're slamming you for your opinion. I think they're slamming you for slamming them for their opinions.
I know Wat personally.. I dont think he means any harm or wants to offend anyone..he is just expressing his opinions...Ive learned how to get along with him even though we have contrasting opinions and just smile at his comments sometimes....anyways its just a show.. it will close anyways! LOL!
Wat-remember XANADU days? lord..weve gone a long way!
See ya soon!

He should do so as if he wasn't an 8 year old who didn't get what he wanted.
