LOL. He is just like that! when he has an opinion about something-I mean STRONG OPINION- he holds dearly to it!
I can assure you.. he is not like that in person...sometimes when you are posting, it may come across differently!

Posted: 1/7/09 at 2:02pmI've had the pleasure of meeting WAT and having dinner with him. He's a very sweet guy and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. (I make up for that!)

I don't need testimonials from friends vouching for the goodness of a poster, I just prefer "opinions" and "reviews" to remain constructive and respectful. I knew he hated PalJoey weeks ago, he didnt need to spout off yet again in a congratulatory thread to the cast about their extension.
He does not know me and should not make inferences about my state of mind when I see a show. THOSE ARE NEITHER OPINIONS NOR REVIEWS and are highly disrespectful.
Thank you Blaxx and Reg.

Thom- I just love that word, "testimonial" I was LMAO!
Alberto- Honey, you really have to be a less of a bitch when you hate a certain show!
and you know I love you!

I love WithoutaTrace when he's sweet and I even love him when he's bitchy. (And twitchy. And alive.)
But I never "slammed" him for his opinion. Go back and check the thread.
All I said was, "Now that you mention it..."

Posted: 1/7/09 at 2:57pmI love you too PalJoey (the poster...not the show!)

I don't usually get involved with this. But to be fair Trace did start the slamming..
paljoey, i'm truly embarassed that you were the one who started this thread...and foster, you liked this production? really??
I do not know anyone personally in this thread, so I am not going to make judgments on if they're a mean or nice person. I'm just sayin..

After this thread, I'm going to have no friends left at all...and thanks, ljay, for pointing out that i started the slamming.
PalJoey (the poster) and I have had an ongoing feud about this production, so if anyone other than he had started this thread, I probably wouldn't have even responded.
...and jaystarr, yes, I remember those Xanadu days. I'm so glad we've moved past that rumble in our friendship and we are now close again. I consider you a true friend and would never want to do anything to jeopardize that. You are awesome.
...and one more thing, if i ever saw Matthew Risch on the subway or on the streets, and if I got the chance to get his attention and speak to him, I would tell him that he did a fabulous job as the lead role of Joey and I would also congratulate him on his two-week extension. See, I'm not that heartless!

Let's all take 37 seconds and watch Gene Kelly dance in the original.

Posted: 1/7/09 at 4:03pmFWIW, I don't see WaT's initial post as "slamming" anyone. At least not in the sense that usually seems to happen on this board.
LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!

Thank you, JordanGirl, for your rational thinking regarding my posts. I am a very nice guy, and was in no way trying to "slam" any individual poster. In a perfect world, I would be friends with everyone on this board (yes, even you Foster), and I am offended that just by posting my opinion on a show I didn't care for, riled up so many people.
JordanGirl, even you and I have disagreed on some shows (Shrek) and we've worked through that and are still friends...and we'll always both love N2N! Thank you for your kind words.

It wasn't your opinion of the piece--although why you saw fit to go into my congratulations-on-the-extension thread and call the show "horrific" and "crap" is something I'll never understand--the "slamming" occurred when you called Bettyboy a "drunk" said that I "embarrassed" you.
If you really want me to embarrass you, get ME drunk. Ask Reginald. It's not pretty.

Posted: 1/7/09 at 4:45pmYou're welcome WaT! :) Yes, we have had our differences on occasion. But we did discuss it rationally and all is well. And yes, we'll always have N2N!!!! :)

Seriously. If you want to see some slamming . . .

The PalJoey Slammer:
1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz Southern Comfort
1/2 oz amaretto
1/2 oz sloe gin
orange juice
Pour the liquors into a highball glass filled with ice.
Fill with orange juice.

Amaretto, Southern Comfort AND sloe gin...?
And yet...it's so...SWEET.
(As Auntie Mame might say.)

Posted: 1/8/09 at 1:15amThanks for the laugh PalJoey! One of my favorite lines in the movie, but it's just not complete without hearing Roz herself say it (the almost whispered "Sweet").

PalJoey, always grateful when you put a link to my Pal Joey posting on youknowwhattube (yeah, that's me by another name).
I better not get involed in this mixup as I've made my opinion clear.
Can't we all just get along?
#46re: Congratulations to Pal Joey
Posted: 1/8/09 at 7:20amHave you ever seen a longer clip of the footage of Gene in the show online? I know it exists. I'd love to get it.

Posted: 1/8/09 at 8:56amNow can you send this brilliant production, which i saw even before the cast chanage, to London...please!

Hey...How many Cast recording are there for PAL JOEY?
I have the 1950 Revival with Harold Lang, 1995 Encores with Miss Patti, Peter Gallagher & Bebe Neuwirth and the 1980 London Cast from Jay Records. Am I missing any recordings? just wonderin'....

I think there was one of the London production from 1954 but its very rare if it was made at all.
Edit- it was released on very limited LP and mostly just sold at the theatre during the shows run. That makes it extremely rare!
