I’m kinda disappointed they recorded the cast recording with that tiny band. The score really needs more musicians, and I’m hoping that will be enhanced for Broadway.

I would think there could be an extra couple of musicians on the album to fill that sound.

Kelli tagged the band on an Insta post about the album and it's the exact same people as at the Atlantic. So unless they layered in more musicians later, it's a real shame & missed opportunity. There's even a world where there was a better orchestration utilizing the same number of musicians so it didn't sound like something scored in 1994. It's just a poor orchestration that doesn't serve the score...but it was done by Guettel himself so evidently these are his wishes?
