I noticed the same thing. Too bad the Booth is booked into November. Studio 54 is smaller than the Lyceum in capacity, but I suspect the Shuberts are involved in the transfer, thus the Lyceum. As Grey House just announced a July 30 closing date, I suspect an announcement about Days is coming soon.

It's the balcony. Jacobs and Schoenfeld and Music Box somehow feel smaller because upstairs isn't separated into Mezz and Balc. And for a house that small, a balcony isn't particularly desireable because it means a bad overhang of the mezz + cheaper seats at the top of the balc (and the location + marquee visibility also make it one of Broadway's worst houses). But producers must take the houses they're offered.

It is one of the smaller Shubert houses. Under a thousand seats. Only the Golden and Booth are smaller Shubert houses each by about 100 seats. My issue with the Lyceum is discomfort, especially upstairs which is brutal.

Maybe they can follow the leadoff Kimberly Akimbo, but instead of not putting ice in the drinks they won't put the alcohol. You're paying the $25 for the classy souvenir cup.

The last thing I wanted after watching this was a drink. It would be a weird move to serve a themed cocktail (like a Brandy Alexander) during this show.

No Makers Mark sponsorship for this show like with COMPANY, huh?
If this musical were more subversive I say they should lean into it. Onstage or cabaret table seating comes with open bar and as the show climaxes the staff keeps pouring drinks and placing bottles of alcohol on their tables.

"They DID serve a themed cocktail at Atlantic!"
I totally missed that when I was there! Like Jordan said, I wonder how many people started to feel awkward drinking theirs.

Really hope some producers are willing to invest in this! We need challenging musical theatre right now and at least the title is not a new one to many - the movie came out in the 60s and Lee Remick was Oscar- nominated for the role. Kelli O’Hara would be in top contention for another Lead Actress Tony and she would deserve it!
But do you honestly think it has commercial, mass appeal? It's small, dark and incredibly depressing. I loved it but it doesn't really change those facts.
I would liken it to something like “Next To Normal” which is also a small musical about real issues like mental health, and it it won the Pulitzer and was nominated for 11 Tonys !

Confused by this-- maybe I am misremembering or my brain is just being fuzzy, but wasnt the response in these parts and by the critics rather tepid? Yes its a pretty impressive cast but Im surprised by these rumors, as I can't see this catching fire and turning a profit?

I mean, there's only 6 theatres smaller than the Lyceum, and three of those are filled by nonprofits. 922 seats is appropriately small for a show where ticket sales would probably be equally bad in a 599-seat house vs a 1500-seat house.
As for THE HOURS, there's only 8 performances, occurring in May 2024. So Kelli could conceivably jump between both by missing about 2 cumulative weeks of DAYS performances, in the unlikely event that it's still running by then."

N2N is more akin to DEAR EVAN HANSEN. Had a contemporary score, appealed to young people, in addition to the praise for its writing and performances.
This show is a bleak period piece with an inaccessible score, more along the lines of THE VISIT or PASSION.
I’m glad there are producers taking risks in this unforgiving theatre economy but, considering the general lack of enthusiasm for this production, transferring seems extremely misguided
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
Interesting. Glad we are getting a cast album, but I honestly can't say this is an album I would play on repeat? I would love to see this transfer just so more people could see Kelli giving what I consider to be the best performance of her career, but I don't think it's commercially viable at all, sadly.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
Not something I think I could listen to over and over again like NTN, Piazza, etc. Regardless, I’m excited to see this have a life after the Atlantic production. I liked it because of Kelli and Brian.
