How about Delta Burke as Miss Mona in the Actor's fund performance of "Whorehouse?"
How about that Seth f**ked up by picking a weak musical that no one wants to see.
One's opinion -
Mine is that I happen to love BLWWIT!
Seth has a great track record and his shows make TONS of money for the cause - when YOU bring in that kind of money, I bet they let YOU pick the show.... hmmmmm?
Check Out My MySpace!!!
Dixie Carter would have been a swell Mona.
fflag - you are in the definite minority opinion. Most people I know who are into these kinds of benefits LOVE Whorehouse and are thrilled to see it back in NYC, even if just as a fun one night concert.
dixie, delta, annie potts or jean smart would be just fine!!!
Ah, bring back the broadway whores. Fun stuff.
Who will be the sheriff?
im am extremly excited about the WHOREHOUSE concert. the cast will be great and seth is AHMAZING!! he will do fantastic and i am sure he would not pick a show that would suck. its rasing money for the actor's fund..he has mentioned in the past that many people that use AF are his friends...why would he pick something that wouldn't help them?

Pam Blair (original Amber/Angel) should just do a come-back as Mona or Anita Morris should come back to live just for one night to show everyone how it's done...
But in all seriousness, I find this show to be fun, very well-structured, and with the proper cast it makes for a great evening at the theater. "Hard Candy Christmas" is one of my favorite show tunes.
The casting of the "girls" looks great!
Angie and Rachel will be fab.
The casting of the "boys" looks rather weak.
(cept fot Justin Greer,) he's hot and talented.
and in a jock strap looks college like.
I wanted Brooks Ashcanmatzees (sic)
as the Crazy Church guy
Andrea will kick ass
I guess they are having trouble casting Mona
and casting the Sheriff will fall into place when they do.
I know she can't do it
Bernedette,
But call Reba and cry and beg!

are they going to record this like they did Hair?
It will totally depend on who they get for the leads. If they are going for some type of name from country music, there are existing record contracts that have to be dealt with. If they don't get names that are "big enough" there probably wouldn't be much of an audience for a new recording. Updated On: 9/15/06 at 01:24 AM
Man, I can't believe I'm the only one rooting for Hoty.
Dolly has been busy with writing 9 to 5: the musical so not sure if she'd be available...
Well with Barbara Mandrell hosting Broadway Meets Country why not have her stick around and do Mona? She'd be swell.
I think Barbara Mandrell might be too conservative to accept the role. Maybe Earleen Mandrell will do it!!
It would be amazing if they could get Dolly to do it.

Broadway Meets Country is taking place in Nashville this year...much to my chagrin...
I think Charlene Tilton would be fun.
what about linda hart...i know she is not a big name..but after "Trailer Park" I feel she would be good...and also a good age for it.
Linda Hart would be fantastic, but I'm sure they're going for big names. Otherwise, Debra Monk would also be fab.
I've never heard Delta sing, but just by hearing her talk I'm guessing she has a good singing voice. I think she'd be good.
As much as I'd like to see Delta get more time in the spotlight, I think someone like Jessica Harper would be good, too. Sheryl Lee Ralph would be pretty damn awesome, also.
I wonder when they're going announce the leads. It's getting pretty close here.

I'm also quite surprised they have not announced the leads yet with the show being a couple of weeks away, is this usually the case?
Though I am excited about some of the cast, I am quite intrigued to know who we'll see as Mona.
Lesley Ann Warren is another person I wouldn't mind seeing in the role. She's fun when she's a bit saucy.
