Just saw the trailer for the new DREAMGIRLS movie during a commercial break of the Tony's. Was this it's first airing? Checked the website a few days ago and didn't see anything new...

It looks great! Beyonce sounds WONDERFUL and the three of them together? I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS FILM!!

Thoughts?

Her voice really was stellar.

I was skeptical, but I think they used a really great clip...They're going to be great. And they look amazing.

Christmas won't come soon enough.

Beyonce did sound great. All the focus was on her though, they didn't even show the faces of the other two. Credits only Beyonce, Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx. I guess the others will be treated as "extras".

Who cares how much they show them! As long as the movie is good. Jamie, Beyonce and Eddie will get people in the seats. The others dont have star names. What did you people want from Hollywood? Wait not Hollywood, entertainment period. If they were doing the show on Broadway with the same cast those 3 would be over the title.

I think it'll be an amazing movie. I heard the twenty minutes brought to the Cannes film festival really wowed the audience--Oscar talk and it's still months away from release!

I was worried and angry that Beyonce was getting the part, but she is EXCELLENT as Deena. VERY impressed. I no longer am afraid to see it...thank goodness. I just wish I could hear Effie's voice.

Theis DREAMGIRLS trailer did nothing for me, I've seen a better trailer for this movie in theaters.

i am so excited, the trailer did look great. i was mad at first about beyonce, but she looked as if she was handling the part well- from the 30 seconds they showed.

I liked the trailer, but it also highlighted a concern I've always had about Beyonce playing Deena. One of the key points of the musical is that Effie has a stronger voice than Deena, but not the right look. This is especially notable on One Night Only, where Effie's soulful version of the song gives way to Deena's soul-less, vapid, disco version. While the actress playing Deena has to be a very good singer, if she's too good at belting and doesn't show a bit of a thin voice, I'm afraid that something will be lost. The trailer made me nervous that this side of Deena might be overlooked because she is being played by Beyonce.

whatever. this was the best part of the tonys. a commercial. my god. i cannot wait. this looks unbelievable. and to see anika on national television made me incredibly excited. one of our own!

Beyonce sounds great, but I don't think she necessarily fits the Deena part. She looks great, and they look great, and I'm glad they didn't make Effie into a HUGE fatty. Jennifer looks great.

Concerned about Beyonce fest too. As long as Effie is still the lead in the movie, no matter how they market it, I'll be ok.

It's not right, but it's OK.
