one other thing, has there been any explanation on why they chose such a far off venue? i figured if they'd made it closer to the theater(say the lobby perhaps)they could have made it longer, plus it was bitch to get there on foot from the port authority

well she did look at me like a moron until i dumbed down my reference of the last five years and how she knows a friend of the family (the last 5 years is based off of jason robert brown's divorce essentially [although that depends on who you ask] and i know his ex-wife) but she was rather nice

I was there but at the very end. I was one of the last people and I know Greg and have talked to him lots so I was hoping to be able to chat a bit without holding up the line, I actually got there a couple minutes before 6 but then people working there hopped on after me so it was kinda pointless going to the back. I did end up talking to Greg for a bit anyway, and actually I thought it was my fault for stopping the line and talking to Greg that my book was there and I wasn't sure if/what to say to David, Norbie and John, seen them all before...so I just kinda left.

For Norbie...I mean I'm not saying this is a big excuse, but well I'm gonna make a post about...ehh, let's call it a brief Q&A for a group after the show that Greg invited me too. Norbie was there, but was still having vocal problems and was having diffiuclty talking, Sherie started talking for him haha, it was cute. So, maybe that's why he wasn't so talkative? Don't know about John, he's said to be one of the nicest and I've always had pleasurable experiences with him.

I was very disappointed by this event. I showed up incredibly early and stood in line for however many hours that was. I didn't expect Joanne Gleeson to be there, it didn't seem to be something she would do. I was sad that I didn't get to see Sarah Gettleberger-her scene was one of my favorites. Mostly though, I was annoyed at the way the actors behaved. The first person (I think David Yasbeck) didn't even arrive till long after 5-when the event should have started. It is incredibly unprofessional and shows your fans that you don't really care much about what you are doing or about how long they have been waiting to see you. I sort of understand Sherrie being late becuase she has a kid, but still, it you make a commitment you should be on time instead 45 minutes late. When I got up to the people, I got a little talk from Sherrie (very nice, she commented on my henna) I got a smile from Greg (the nicest guy in the world!!!!) and then David Yazbeck grabbed the cd cover and signed it and flung it down to Norbert who flung it to John. They didn't even really look up, except Norbert who gave me a sheepish look when I inspected the doodling he did on the table. All in all, I felt like that was a waste of time. There weren't that many people there where they had to do the speedy sign and go. I felt like I deserved at least for each person to look up after they signed my cover. I can't read any of the signatures (I can almost figure out what the first letters are, but it's hard) I have gone to cd signings before and,, even with the lines being long (which they weren't here) the actors arrived on time and tried to give each fan at least a smile or answer a question.

Zenachick - (*Sara Gettelfinger, Joanna Gleason) That's really sad! I am extremely sad to hear that so many people were disappointed by the event. The cast of DRS is usually very tired (just look at all the energy they pour into the peformances!) but I've never heard of them being rude. This is very, very depressing to hear from so many different sources.

I remain convinced it was a bad day or something.

hmmm ... well I don't know about the rest, but I know Greg well enough to believe that he could be bleeding out of his eyes and would still be his usual friendly, nice self. He might be like ... "I'm sorry, I can't see you very well ... you have a rather reddish hue about you, but it's very nice to meet you. Thank you for coming. My eyes didn't drip on you, did they?" ...

First off.... No one was 45 minutes late. Maybe 10-15 minutes. Then the line started moving. I do agree that in the past sherie has not been very nice but Currently everytime I see and talk to her she has been more than accomadating. Which let me tell you surprised the crap out of me.
Now as for the rest of the group. I think that Norbert is kinda shy. It can be exhausting to talk to millions of people and as it has been mentioned before maybe they were really tired or again as said before a bad day. I was there and got my autographs. They did seem a little distracted, maybe they were mad because we all know that Joanna wasn't REALLY sick. She is notorious for being a divane diva. Maybe they were pissed that she didn't come and they had to. HMMMM something to think about. Joanna did mention somewhere ( I can't remember where) that she'd rather die than sign autographs. Reason being why she exits the front door not the back.
OH BY THE WAY IF YOU WANT JOANNA SIGNATURE GO TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE AND WAIT. I highly suggest this as to piss her off for not being very nice. Autographs are not a requirement and though I personally believe its all in a days work, some people choose not to give them, which is perfectly fine. But when it comes to treating your fellow man (or woman) as a person thats a whole different thing. Come on Joanna GROW UP!!!!!!

OH by the way
Greg Jbara said to me to tune in Saturday to watch his dressing room cam. He said that this saturday that he's actually going backstage with the camera during the performance. That ought to be extremely interesting.

I'm starting to think Joanna is a projection bc every event she is also ill or on vacation.

GregCam ... thanks for mentioning that. Yes, he wants to do something a bit special before his week off.

Off-topic board has a Greg love thread/ cam discussion thread; fans here at BWW tend to gather there during his camcasts.

[editing because ... posting the link in my msg. was dumb ... lol, it's in my signature below!] duh!

since i have no way of knowing personally, i will try to maintain that joanna is just incredibly shy/doesn't like crowds/is antisocial, etc. i have written her a letter in hopes of an autograph, including an SASE and my email address. let's see how that goes.

and i definitely agree/support all this about greg jbara being the best man on broadway. he really is.

JbaraFan1 and Thenardier: you two are actually the reasons why i made a BWW.com account. i read the entire jbara love thread after seeing jbara leave notes for you guys on the cam... i will be joining you all tomorrow for the matinee on the thread, i hope.

...and please don't take that in a creepy way.

I was very disappointed by the signing. I got there almost three hours early (was the first one there I think), even though we didnt get online until two hours before because the line started to form. The turnout was NOT good at all. Tower was a really bad choice of location for the signing. They probably should've had it at the theater or maybe at Virgin. Maybe then Joanna may have shown up since she'd have to go to the theater anyways. I was very disappointed that she did not show up. I only wanted to go to the event because of Joanna as she rarely shows up at the stage door. Though I believe everyone was pretty nice to my friends and I, I was not satisfied with the event. Sherie was the most pleasent out of all of the 5 there. It was pretty unprofessional of all of them to show up late. They didn't start signing until 5:25, so that ruined my whole plan of going to the Avenue Q lotto. Did get to see Spelling Bee though (and LOVED it). The Wicked CD signing was a much better success than this signing (even though Kristin wasn't at that one, they actually showed up on time LOL)

I would just like to say that I arrived within 5 mintues of the 6pm cut-off time.

The cast, and Yazbek, were all at the table signing cds, and photos were being taken. No one was denied getting their cds signed. When it ended they all milled around for a bit, chatting with whomever was around.

It was the tail end of the event and I did not see any evidence of rudeness to, nor disrespect for, the fans who made the effort to come to the signing. One would think that if there were going to be rudeness it might manifest itself after 30 to 40 minutes of signing autographs. None was witnessed by me.

In my opinion, a lovely cast, who enjoy each other's company, and who are also appreciative of the healthy attention of the fans of DRS.

one thing i'd like to pint out abotu the delay in the signing, it wasn't the actor's fault really they were held in the opera room (the door to which was right next to me on line) for the photographers to snap away, it was actually funny to see the people shopping that section's reactions since john was shopping while he waited

Not that I should be making excuses for Norbert, but honestly? This isn't really an excuse. I'm sorry if any of you felt "disappointed" in the way he acted toward you, but the man has been really sick the last week. Not to mention he hasn't been talking much. If he didn't talk to you at the CD signing, it was probably because he was trying to save his voice for the show. He had to call out of 3 performances last week due to vocal rest/a cold/exhaustion. Plus he has two young daughters at home. Give the man a break. re: DRS Signing @ Tower

I guess I wasnt really dissapointed IN butz, just dissapointed in the way my CD got shoved and before I knew it his sig. was on it without me seeing. I mean its not like i'm angry at the guy or anything, I just wished I couldve actually spoken to him. im sure there is a reason for it, though.

Sorry, this was way down in pages but just got back from Disney World to respond...

Couple of things, Jose I think I saw you there...I was the girl who twice ran to the end of the line to try to be last to talk to Greg more so I wouldn't hold anyone up, but then people working there got behind me so that was kind of pointless...

Hahaha Barb. I'll add one to that. If Greg was having vocal problems, or was at the point where he couldn't speak, he'd probably bring a labtop or message board to write things to fans.

Luckydave, I'm VERY surprised that you say Sherie was the nicest one there. nothing at all against Sherie, she was the first at the table and incredibly nice, but almost everyone will agree Greg is the ultimate nice, talkative person at these things. Just found that a little weird.

Wickedgeek, funny you say that about Joanna. I told Greg I missed Joanna again(told him earlier that she got up when there was 5 people in front of me for the original signing) and he said yeah she's quite the elusive one, we're not sure she really exists(said to me all in fun) but just kinda funny.
