Dear Ellen,
THERE ARE ONLY FOUR DAYS LEFT! I tried reasoning with you. I tried begging. I tried saying "please." I even went as far as saying "PRETTY please!"
And now, with only seven performances and four days left, there still have been no reports of a camera crew inside the theatre.
Now when Sunday comes along I hope, I mean I REALLY hope that there are a multitude of posts here on BroadwayWorld about camera crews inside the Walter Kerr for the closing performance. You nabbed Raul which is fine and dandy - but we're talking about TWO performances on the caliber of LEGENDS. They're our Ethel Merman! Our Mary Martin! Our Zero Mostel! Our Barbra Streisand! Our Liza Minnelli! Our Carol Channing!
Ellen - GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! PUT YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT! Even if it is just for the six people who would buy the DVD...I mean C'MON! Art matters more than money, right? ...RIGHT? ...RIGHT?!
With love,
CapnHook
PS: Didn't mean to yell at you, but...C'MON!!!
Well said. Ditto...
(I just don't know who else should be receiving a similar last-ditch letter.)

Very well said!
Per a source -- Ellen Krauss is currently in Europe, so I don't think she personally can do anything at this point unless she's in direct contact with her company, et al.
I feel that some form of statement would have been issued by this time or someone in the cast would have been notified, etc. I remember Raul informed a stagedoor visitor about the COMPANY filming (even saying how many cameras would be shooting).
The days are numbered. Some one in the cast would have said something.
Brody - my letters are satires. [But hey, if Ellen somehow reads them and wants to take them seriously, GO FOR IT!]
Why someone has shown no interest in recording these performances is beyond me.
Thanks, CapnHook for the heads-up. I actually DID scope things out further with this Ellen Krauss woman. Sucks they didn't make any effort to back another filming of a great show. Guess her bit was only for COMPANY (could have been a personal favorite...who knows?).
They did Company because it's Sondheim, which I'm sure Ms. Krass considers more lucrative financially-he's a known entity.
I do think it is tragic that no one will be taping this incredible show and preserving the beautiful performances of both Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson.

Unfortunately the red tape was too much. Kelsey Fowler's demands could not be met.
I don't believe you, Ellen!
We all know you won't do GREY GARDENS because it isn't by that Sondheim guy! Admit it.
Oh Kelsey, such a diva. *sigh*

Forget this Ellen person.
My boss Brody and I are working very hard on recording the show ourselves.

Did you really send it? If you are going to you might want to include the name of the show.

We know what show he means. And don't worry, we already have enough information for the restraining order.
You guys are NUTS!!!
Too bad Stacey already went home. I got to let her know she now has a faux screen name on BWW. She'll flip!

It IS me, Boss!
I wanted to apologize for bringing you the wrong coffee this morning. I do my best not to make you angry.
Nope. Not MY Stacey. She never gets my coffee wrong as it's been the same for years: venti vanilla no foam latte'. Nothing more; nothing less.
Oh Ellen C'MON! WHAT do I have to do for you to put up the money to record it? I'll do anything!

I'm hounding PBS these next few days with feedback emails. Even if it will do no good, at least I can snark to heart's delight about the fact that they idiotically are standing by while two legendary performances go unrecorded. I'll really let them have it when the show closes.

I don't understand. (hypothetical) How often do tapings like this happen? We're already getting one this season! We should be so thankful that it seems to have went through, why bitch to the people who aren't even in charge of TAPING it?
Where's the Ragtime dvd? Caroline or Change? Assassins? Why all of a sudden is everyone clamoring over something to happen so rarely that we are receiving this season when brilliance has gone untaped many times previously
Cause we're in a bitchy mood?

They should just start a new program on PBS called "Live on Broadway" and shoot the last performances of certain shows. Shows that would more than likely never tour, or have local productions, such as Grey Gardens or the new Company revival. Or for that matter, 110 in the Shade. It would be lucrative because it's got the name "Broadway" in the title.
C is for Company - read my other two "Dear Ellen Krass" letters. Your answer is in the first one.

RentBoy, that would be a dream.
Capn, I see the logic, but Ellen may not as she has already made a pointed job of indicating.
