He got a great deal too considering the last known sale of his flat was back in 2005 for $2.19million (in the article Ben bought the place for $2.1 million.)"
It's just one Platt trust fund selling it under market value to another Platt trust fund.
Why do we care? Is he not permitted to have a bed or is he just supposed to stage door to everyone on this board?

pretty sure he is living in it he did a small instastory before Christmas and before his vacation and the background fits the layout of what that complex looks like. Not that it really matters to anyone nor is it anyone’s business one way or the other.

Depends what you consider close. Closest one is the one in Hell's Kitchen. They'd deliver up there pretty quick.
The one in Hell's Kitchen is Ben's (old) hangout. Maybe he'll be frequenting Ollie's near Lincoln Center.

With all due respect, this is only of interest for people who live way outside the New York area. The typical two bedroom apartment costs about this much. Real estate is crazy here. We're talking about a very powerful wealthy family who buys a place for there 24 year old son. This is probably a cash sale from a family trust. The real story would be if he got a 50 million dollar apartment which would be a bit hubristic. This takes nothing away from the fact that we are talking about a very talented and by all accounts well grounded young man who appears to be quite humble considering his wealthy LA roots.

Isn't $2m not all that much for relestate in Manhattan?
Why do we have to drag daddy into this? Do we not think he is successful and talented enough to make his own money and own his own home?

Not on a Broadway actor’s salary. Heck, many successful NY stage actors have gone on record (including Jane Krakowski, Bebe Neuwirth and Martha Plimpton) to say it wasn’t until they landed a role in a long-running TV series were they able to FINALLY purchase a NY apartment. Something they never thought would be a reality to them even after years working on Broadway.
He was in the Pitch Perfect movies, too. I mean, he didn't hand them a pile of cash and pay it off, just needs to have the down payment.
It’s just family business. Nothing for those hungry Platt stalkers unfortunately.

Hmm I spoke to a pretty well known Broadway name at the stage door and he joked about how he and his wife lived in a "closet studio." This guy's not a swing or backup ensemble guy. He's been nominated for Tony's before. NYC real estate is insane.
Ben has made enough money from his own labor to afford (and get a mortgage for) that apartment, which is not to say that's how he got the apartment because we now know it is not.

Um, that closed almost 5 years ago.
