I'm afraid I don't understand you OP. You asked if Sondheim stole a song from Jonathan Larson, yet you did not even check to see when the songs were written. The first thing any sensible person would do is to check the dates the songs were written before accusing someone of plagiarism.

Wow, this is one of the most idiotic threads I've ever seen on this board, and that's saying something!
"It's Phantom meets Hamlet... Phamlet!"

Just stop, dramagirl.
You're giving me a really bad headache.
Expect the responses you're getting when you come onto a Broadway Board with an extremely idiotic innane question.

JOHNNY LIKES SOCK PUPPETS!
Weez - I'm so sorry. Sometimes I confuse dumbass music teachers, who used to be viola subs for Broadway shows, with your voice teacher.

I'm truly debating right now between laughing and banging my head against a wall.

Ashley - I was like you. Always wondering. Debating.
Should I get mad? Should I respond back with rude comments? Should I make fun of the OP for being a dumbass? Or should I just try and have fun with this ridiculous thread?
Incredibly, I managed to do all of those things. Everyone wins in the end.

I hate ametures use common sense sodheim is at least 20 years older than larson who do you think wrote it first unless larson thought of the song the day he was born.

Lol, this cracks me up! Do a little research before making the carzy claim that Stephen Sondheim, considered by many to be the greates composer of all time, stole a song from Larson, whose music sounds nothing like Sondheim.
