I'm trying to get an idea of how much time to plan for a meal. We're seeing Freestyle Love Supreme at 5, then Hadestown at 8. Am I correct in thinking FLS is 90 minutes? I'm guessing a little more than an hour to be at a restaurant and eat if we take out time walking between theaters? We don't need anything fancy, but it would be nice to sit and grab a bite between shows. Any thoughts?

Don Antonio on 50th and 8th. Pizza only takes about 90 seconds in the over. Neapolitan style so they're personal sizes (10-12 in). Food is always fresh and cooked perfectly but I find service slow and sometimes a wait to be seated because the restaurant tends to get busy, but somehow always out within an hour.

I love La Masseria. It's on the same street as Hadestown (48th st) and just a 2 min walk from the theater entrance. Last time I walked there a few weeks ago they had outdoor seating available as well as indoor.
Across the street is PS Kitchen (vegan) and Pongsri (Thai).
Whichever restaurant you pick, just make sure to tell your server when ordering that you have a show to watch at 8pm so they are aware.

Thanks for the ideas so far. I should also mention that the restaurant needs to be GF friendly, as my wife has a GF allergy.

Try Friedman’s location in the Edison Hotel - would also second Pongsri Thai, or the large Junior’s at 49th & Bway.
Would try to simplify your life & make a res, have your wife check the menu/call in advance to confirm the GF options, and tell your server you have an 8pm show when ordering so you can make your show without additional stress!

John's Pizza is my go-to option with family before an evening performance, and I see they have several gluten-free items on their menu.

MOST restaurants in the area should EASILY have you out within an hour. They're used to it!

I love Pongsri as well. I second it. I also like Haru on 43rd. There used to be a location in Hells Kitchen but I think it closed. I also Bare Burger on 46th. Yes, any restaurant in the area knows how to expedite to get you out in time for curtain. It's their business. It's pricey, but I love Joe Allen before or after a show. Great wings.

Not the cheapest option, but I'm surprised the Stardust Diner hasn't come up since it's right there

You can't go wrong with Junior's. Their locations at Shubert Alley, and further up Broadway are the perfect spot for dinner in between shows. The Shubert Alley location has a large outdoor patio.
Never understood the appeal of Ellen's. Never will.
Junior's is my go to place for dinner when coming to NYC. Will be there this weekend, having not been there since January 2020. Love all their food.

I agree. While one would think Juniors was a tourist trap, they are the farthest thing from. I have found they have elevated diner food and most of their menu items feel "home-cooked" and are yummy, comforting and very well done. I once had a grilled brie sandwich that was off the charts. They are also very efficient.

Junior's has always been hit or miss with me (and mostly miss, with breakfast). Pongsri, however, has never failed.
