I don't have Itunes, but there is this wonderful snippet of Meryl's Last Midnight online! She kills it! The orchestrations for it are epic!

"I agree that Last Midnight sounds different from the usual stage version. It seems slower and perhaps a bit more sinister than it usually is. It doesn't sound inferior, just different (I actually like it quite a lot). Those pulsing strings add that sinister touch. And it seems like it goes back to the usual at the end."
Mr. Nowak - I actually agree about the first 90% of that clip. It sounds great. I'm being excessively nit-picky here, but it's actually the last few seconds of that clip that bug me. The last chorus following the line "You'll just do what you do...". The bouncy percussion sounds so 54-Below'ish. It doesn't sound as dramatic as it should. But, whatever, I'll reserve judgment instead of obsessing over a 90 second clip.

I switched to the UK store and when I searched, the cover art of the film soundtrack (and the thing itself) is gone, how can you find it now??
EDIT: I found it again, for those who want to know: just add "soundtrack" as well when searching and you'll find it again.

The Lament ends after "to something you lose.." I lreally like how Streep didn't hit the high note on lose. She sings it lower but it still sounds very nice.
Emily Blunt sounds FANTASTIC on Children Will Listen( when she sings no one is alone). I'm very suprised at how lovely her voice is.
In Stay With Me Streeps voice is so good. The whole orchestra accompanies her voice very nicely. (Streeps high notes are very impressive btw)

How was the music for the Transformation scene? Is it the same, or is it changed for the better (I'm hoping it sounds more epic)?

Walt Disney Records has released an instrumental version of the Into The Woods soundtrack that is now available on iTunes. The album features instrumental versions of the musical numbers from the film soundtrack.
Cannot wait to listen to these orchestrations! And with this album, get ready for the YouTube videos of people singing "On The Steps Of The Palace"...
