Do you think "The Addams Family" has any chance of snagging Tonys?

Given the lackluster reviews, I would say it lessens the chance for "The Addams Family" to snag some of the bigger awards (i.e Best Musical).

I can only see two nomination on the horizon for this show:

- Best Set Design
- Best Actor In A Musical, Nathan Lane (All of his reviews were glowing, but I feel more superior candidates are going to usurp this award).

If everyone has their way, the show won't get any nominations let alone win any because no one thinks it deserves any.

But I hope at least Nathan gets a nomination.

Definatly yes!!! The music is hilarious and upbeat, whenever I'm on 46th street everyone comes out of the theater smiling and raving, and the people who are in the show are fantastic. I have tickets in June and I can't wait!! I think the nominations they'll get are for Nathan Lane, Jackie Hoffman, Best Musical, Best original score, & best set design.

Lane still received glowing reviews, and I think he'll be remembered, along with the score (because of the dearth of eligible scores) and some of the design elements.

The original scores are The Addams Family and Memphis - and possibly American Idiot, but that is still TBD.

It is interesting that the score for ADDAMS was torn apart in the press, yet it will still receive a nod for score since there are so few this year.

I loved Memphis & will wait for a good discount before seeing the latter.

Addams Family would be my first choice for a touring production, and aren't theatre critics not voting this year? If that's the case, it could still do well. If I had a theatre in Podunk, MI, I would vote for Addams Family.

I could see Kevin Chamberland getting a nod, perhaps Krysta Rodriquez if they need to fill out the Supporting Actress in a musical category.

Lane may well walk away with another Best Actor in a musical Tony, considering there really doesn't seem to be much competition in that category.

Best Leading Actor in a Musical is the most competitive musical category of the year. At least one worthy performance will be overlooked.

I think the Best Actor nominees will be Hodge, Lane, Gallagher Jr, Hayes, and Ngaujah.

And I could see Neuwirth being nominated, although I don't think she deserves to be.

I'm really curious as to whether or not the show will be nominated for Best Musical. I bet it will be.

Set & Lights. Of course they'll be nominated for score, but Memphis will steal that one if American Idiot is (hopefully) left out.
