I don't think she should. She should go and record. Wicked is great, but I think Sho can do so much more. I mean have you HEARD "Ain't no way" or "Bless the Lord" ?? I mean honestly, even the greatest songs of the score don't do her voice justice.
awkward.

if Ana Gastayer does well in Chicago... i would like her to do it on Broadway... that way... she could be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live... remember how WAAAY back in the day, they would have not just music artists perform but have all types of musical performances... it would be a GREAT way to bring Ana back to the show and have her do some skits... just a thought

I also think that Saycon is going to leave before Shoshana's contract is up. Once THE COLOR PURPLE books a Broadway theatre I'm sure she'll go back to the show. I mean, the producers would be insane not to let her play the role on Broadway.

And, if I were her...I'd rather create an original role on Broadway than take over one that's already been done. I hope she doesn't take over as Elphaba and does TCP instead.

Yes, okay here is my dream sequence of events...

Shoshana leaves, Saycon (who had her standy contract extended) goes on as full-time Elphaba. 8 months later, she is offered TCP, and takes it, meaning Ana takes over the role for 12 months, then Stephanie J. Block for 1 year , then Maria Eberline for 16 months. Maria Eberline leaves to do Newsies on Broadway (starring hyperchet as David), and Eden Espinosa (who had just finished BKLYN world tour) takes over for Elphaba. Then the show closes!

yay for hyperchet coming up with the future Wicked castlist!

I think Eden really pulled the short straw in that scenario...and then after she is done with Wicked she can star in the revival of Good Vibrations re: Does anyone know who will be replacing Shoshana in January of 2006?

re: Does anyone know who will be replacing Shoshana in January of 2006? I didn't mean to poop anywhere I keep that to restricted areas believe me, I just would love to see Eden originate a part or at least do something different otherwise she will be hopelessly typecasted as a one trick pony, with a big belt

The onion is one of the most underappreciated vegtables...It is a vegtable right? If only my college would offer a course to explicate the complex differences between a fruit and a vegtable.

Oh there was a class, however it was cancelled after two sessions when the professor scientifically proved it was impossible to differentiate between the two. Little known fact, but this was what prompted Harvey to sign onto Fiddler to once and for all prove his manhood...

I tried...I don't think either of us will get our own Comedy Central Presents special anytime soon

Jenna does sound like a good catch. She's a name and she can do the role justice. However, they would still have to have an understudy perform Elphaba until Jenna's tour contract is up. However, she might move on to TV or movie projects if not stage projects.

That is a totally subjective statement and is based on your opinions... 442namffug can believe whatever s/he wants.

I heard that Bernadette Peters expressed interest in the role, and Producers are in negotiations with her agent, as we type.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.
