Kind of cheesy and derivative for my taste 😬, but I’m glad you like it!
Any word on the cast album? Sorry if I missed that announcement.
Adorable. And I like how the Insta BTS reel of her talking to the DJ references the naming as a callback to Madonna’s popular Miami Mix.
When my dad was in college in the early eighties, one of the guys on his dorm floor was gay, and frequently played extended disco mixes of the Evita score, a la the MECO "Star Wars" disco suite. Evidently, he played these LOUD, at all hours. This reminds me of that story.
Fun fact: I found that disco suite in a vinyl store's dollar bin, and by the end of the album they're playing "fake Evita music" because they've run out of actual songs from the show to cover. The last track is called "Evita's Theme- Lady Woman."
They did something similar with the title song of the phantom of the opera when it reopened in New York after covid. We all know how that worked out.

How did it work out?
It didn’t help the box office and the show closed

A big, fat FLOP!
I heard ALW locked himself in his dungeon for weeks after that humiliation. He spent months working on that dance remix.

Hot take: Liza’s version of Losing My Mind is my favorite of all time and that entire Results album is a masterpiece and should have catapulted her to pop stardom. So many memories are associated with that album…,

Perfect! Yet another reason for another trip to NYC to see that show!

That disco album was recorded by a studio group called FESTIVAL and released in 1979 via Robert Stigwood’s record label RSO. The disco version of DCFMA was a hit and was played on the radio. I remember it well.

The behaviors of Liza's character in the video for that are so sick, twisted and unhinged that I can't even watch it any more.
