He doesn't know how to work a camera the best, so it's a little blury & dark, he didn't wait for us to finish smiling so Mitch has this weird half smile and I look absolutely ridiculous.
But of course my brother's came our perfect, haha.

I will have to get a better one if/whenever I get to go back.

theres new photos up on broadway.com of leighton meester at the show. I find the one that they misidentify Jennifer Foote as Becca Tobin amusing.

Just got home from the city... the commute was a nightmare! Anyway, my mom and I had a BLAST (of course) at ROA, but we (and pretty much everyone else around us) were getting distracted/annoyed by these two women. One had a hideous pink wig on and they both just needed to give the little lighters given out at the door a rest! It seemed like they were just there to drink because the one was back and forth from her seat constantly! OK, the rant is over! I saw Savannah Wise as Sherrie back in previews and saw Kerry tonight. I really prefer Kerry in the role. She was perfectly innocent but gave Sherrie the edge she needed. Everyone was great with a few Thanksgiving adlibs! =] Ok, time to get some sleep! HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE! (even the annoying pink haired people and their friends)

Okay as one of the "two women", no, we were not there just to drink, we tend to go stand in the back for certain scenes when we are in lotto on the left side and can't see. Yes, we had some drinks, it was Thanksgiving Eve for christ's sake. Last night would be the 2nd time either of us have drank at the show and combined we've see it enough times where that is a small percentages of shows.

Last time I checked they gave the lighters out for a reason. And since we used them for what equated to 3 full songs, just like the majority of the rest of the audience, not so much in the orchestra, but the Mezz was lit up like a christmas tree, I don't think we need to give it a rest.

1stgirl, can you not see how your behavior can be distracting to others? While you may be having fun, the audience doesn't care if this is only the second time you've been drunk (or are acting that way). Constantly getting up and down from your seats is very annoying.

Is it your point to be the center of attention and take away from what is going on stage...? I truly doubt it because from your posts you seem like a nice person. But this is the second poster (that I know of) that has complained about the girl in the pink wig. Why?

I can't think of any other show that would tolerate this type of behavior, and it's too bad Rock of Ages allows for it. Because everyone who pays for a ticket should have the right to enjoy it free and clear and unencumbered.

Hi Kate2, as the person in the "hideous pink wig", I thought I needed to defend myself here. First of all, I was up TWICE. AND I WAS ON THE AISLE so I didn't disturb anyone. I ran around the back so I could see the screen during the Stacee Jaxx intro and I ran to the bathroom during Harden My Heart. Your characterization that I was "back and forth constantly" is just WRONG.
Second, as said by lstbutifulgrl, yeah, we had a few drinks, for maybe the 2nd time ever at the show. But we were not drunk. You haven't seen the drunks that go to this show sometimes. People have been pulled out for being drunk & disorderly. We were no where near that and the ushers would have called us on it, if they thought we were being disruptive (which we were not).
We don't go to drink (there are plenty of places in NYC to get cheaper drinks, if that's your choice). We go to have a good time.
And as said, we use the lighters WHEN APPROPRIATE. The mezz had those lighters out for almost every song!
Ok, response to the rant over.
You should probably go on a Sunday to see how you like Emily. I think you'll be very pleasantly surprised.
I wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving!

SDS: yes, I can, and if someone asked me to quiet down I gladly will. Yes, we scream, yes we have a good time, but we do all of these things at appropriate moments. We do not talk loudly the entire show, or sing over the cast. I often get quite the opposite reaction, I cannot tell you how many times people have said to me "wow, you guys are having a good time" or "so glad someone is enjoying it, the people next to me aren't even clapping". No, trust me, it is not my intention to be the center of attention.

And as RoaFan2 said, try going to the show on a friday or saturday night, where there is an over/under on how many people the cops will throw out. I've seen people rush the stage, I've seen people chase after Stacee Jaxx when he comes down the aisle for "Every Rose", we've seen it all.

StarStruckGB - If you know who I am, please let me know! I'm a work in progress! LOL!

Oh, and just to mention, I get the same as lstbutifulgrl "I had such a great time watching you have fun!" or "I want to sit by you 'cause the people by me were dead!". But if someone asks us to settle down (and I still don't think we're ANYWHERE near disruptive), we will.

Nice pic! Happy Thanksgiving!

Sorry to offend anyone or describe something that wasn't exactly how it seemed. I was just saying it how I remembered it... and yes, it was at like 3am so I was tired so it didn't exactly come out right. Anyway, with this in the past, everyone go stuff yourself............. on turkey =] Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't think either side is really 'wrong' here, just different expectations of how to enjoy the show. The show certainly encourages audience . . . um . . . enjoyment. It even thrives off an excited crowd. That said, it is still Bway, so you are going to have lots of people there just to watch, and they want to focus on the show, and the show alone.

I personally love the excitement in the crowd, but I can see others being annoyed. However, the songs are so loud, it's not like someone singing along is going to keep you from hearing it.

People who haven't seen it before aren't going to understand the moving around to get a better view of certain scenes, and in fact, that's the most annoying part of the show for me - there are A LOT of partial view seats. If you are in the outer half of either side orchestra section, you are missing a lot of the show, some of which is important to the plot. If you can't see Stacey Jaxx on the big screen, that whole scene would be confusing. The entire right side of the right orchestra can't even see the stairs, which is BS. Poor planning, imo.

Happy Thanksgiving!

If lstbutifulgrl2 and roafan2 are "disruptive" then I'd hate to see your reaction to a Friday or Saturday night performance!

:p

Though, to be honest, I've had times where there have been completely DEAD emotionless people sitting behind me who I could hear getting annoyed by my use of the lighters (at appropriate times) during the show.

The only time I've ever been annoyed was when there was a group of 3-4 young 20ish year olds (probably in college), who basically were having a conversation the entire time. Most of which was running commentary/sarcastic comments, too cool for the whole experience type stuff. They got some dirty looks, and eventually shut up.

Same show, the guys next to me were semi-loud, but only because they were genuinely enthused/surprised by the show, and/or laughing. While, probably inappropriate at South Pacific, they were not annoying in the least, because it was clear their noise level was just the result of liking the show a lot, and were enjoying it in the manner it was intended, as opposed to the kids behind me.

IN fact, one of my favorite moments from the show was the result of "inappropriate audience behavior". When Drew got up on stage to replace Stacey Jaxx, some woman in the back of the orch yelled, "I LOVE YOU CONSTANTINE!"

Everybody started laughing, CM paused for a full 3 seconds trying to think of something to say, then finally came with, "Who the F is Constantine?". Brought the house down.
