No Cherry Jones! Shocked! Featured nod for Celia, but no leading nom for Cherry. Audra nommed for Actress in a Play.

ALADDIN continues to pick up steam! SO HAPPY for Adam Jacobs!
WOW. Well I don't care whether Audra or Cherry wins the Tony at this point. They were both stellar. But I'm wondering where the Tonys will place Audra now-it seemed more likely she'd be in the musical category.
How in the name of Mother Dixie was Cherry Jones snubbed?

Cherry was the most surprising snub, but what I really adore here is that they were willing to go far FAR off Broadway to recognize some of these. Play, Actress in a Play, Sets, Costumes...they really spread the love around. Wonderfully.
Interesting that there's no Michelle Williams or Linda Emond. That's 3 sets of nominations in a row that Linda has been left off of. She was my pick for the Tony this year, but I obviously have to rethink that.
Interesting that Margo Siebert was nominated for Tamar of the River.
If/Then was snubbed for score by Big Fish?
I am still holding out hope that Michelle Williams is nominated on Tuesday.

Really surprised ALADDIN was left out of costumes and, to a lesser extent, scenic and lighting design.
Also, both the Outer Critics Circle and Drama Desk deemed ALADDIN's score eligible. Hopefully the Tony committee follows suit.
Also, no GLASS MENAGERIE for revival of a play? What?!

No Mark Rylance, or Sam Barnett for Twelfth Night. I was shocked when at least Mark wasn't nominated.
Good. I liked Big Fish's score better.
But, I'd take Adam Jacobs out and put Michael Cerveris in. He deserved the nod.
Glad to see all the recognition Radcliffe is getting in a very competitive year.
THRILLED for Lauren Worsham. Interesting that she got the Drama Desk nomination and Lisa O'Hare got the OCC nomination. Would love them both to score Tony nods.
^ I had the same thought about Worsham and O'Hare! I've been hoping that Gentleman's Guide would choose "I've Decided to Marry You" as their Tony performance number, and would imagine a Tony nomination for one of both of those ladies would influence that choice. (Pinkham seems likely to score a nomination for Leading Actor.)
Aladdin really is picking up steam, good for them.
I figured Ramin would sneak in for Actor in a Musical, considering their categories have 14 nominees. No Lena Hall or Marin Mazzie for Featured Actress either...
This season has really turned out to be so unexpected. It will be interesting to see how much love/any at all the Tony committee gives to Bridges, Bullets & If/Then.
OK, what kind of crack were they on when they decided to snub THE GLASS MENAGERIE and give OF MICE AND MEN an nomination? Cherry Jones' snub is enough of a travesty, but the production itself? Clearly they're a demented bunch.
I am happy to see Michael Korie's smart and refreshing lyrics for FAR FROM HEAVEN get recognized.
Not only a snub for Cherry and the revival itself, but no John Tiffany nomination for directing Glass Menagerie.

If Audra gets into the Tony category for Best Actress in a Play, I'd put all of my money on her winning... It seems as though Menagerie's steam has ended due to it being so long ago. Cherry ain't getting that third Tony at this stage I'm afraid
.Surprised Helene Yorke wasn't nominated.
.I'm glad to see Barrett Wilbert Weed was nominated! She was spectacular in "Heathers" and has a sick voice!
.Surprised "If/Then" isn't getting much love

I'm shocked that Linda Emond has not been nominated for an award for Cabaret yet. She gave my favorite female performance in a musical of the entire season. I'm hoping the Tonys recognize her on Tuesday!
