I feel alone that I didn’t care much for this (saw it Saturday night). Radcliffe is great, as always, but the s show itself to me feels more performative than having any new on the bones it tries to sale.
Maybe it’s the forced audience interaction - I don’t know. But outer The Unknown, Giant and Just In Time (for the 2nd time) this was my least favorite show of our 4-show weekend.

Rosie O'Donnell said today on tiktok that she is doing something in NY this summer but couldn't reveal it yet. I immediately thought of this.

Hargitay is doing the show from May 26 to June 28.
After that, someone knows, but it's not me.

Is this show going to extend past Mariska with a new star?

I sure hope so. Would love to know who is being looked at post-Hargitay, but i assume an extension would be based mostly on how well the show does with her... curious to hear some good ideas for someone who could follow-up her run.

This play was truly one of the best things I’ve seen since the pandemic. I hope it has a long, long life. Radcliffe was incredible.

Chris Jones suggests that at least one of the audience participants is a plant:
"But while it’s not entirely true to say he is the one and only actor in that show, given that I witnessed one of the 'audience' members leaving through the stage door, it is a magnificent solo performance nonetheless."
Anyone know anything about this? How does it work in terms of Equity rules, Playbill credits, etc.? I haven't seen the show and am not looking to spoil the fun for anyone but am fascinated, though not wholly unsurprised, by the situation.

That person doesn’t know what they’re talking about. I was one of the people chosen to participate last week, and we get to hang out backstage for a few minutes to properly meet and chat with Dan and get pictures and such. We then exit out of one of the stage doors right behind where the crowd gathers. I think it’s the same door the rest of the people sitting on stage exit, but they had us hanging back on the opposite side of the stage so I didn’t see for sure. I promise none of the participants are plants, just super lucky audience members.

Thank you for this intel! Now I’m laughing at him thinking he has this big scoop to share about the show.

Plus everyone who sits onstage has to exit through the stage door. No exceptions.

I read here that if you are seated on the stage you exit through the stage door. Do you enter through the main doors at the start of the show? How is seeing the show from the stage....does Daniel have his back to you through most of it? Just wondering as I will be seeing it with Mariska Hargitay but have not purchased tickets yet. Also, are the audience "participants" selected from those onstage or throughout the theater? Thanks in advance for responses to my questions.

Anyone know of a discount code for when Mariska is in the show? There seems to still be lots of seats available. This is a must see for me!

Everyone still enters through the same main doors. I would say the back stage section does probably get a lot of back views, the sides are definitely better, but Dan did move around a lot and it’s not all front facing. The night I went, he clearly liked row M left orchestra for participants since he chose me to play Sam (love interest) and the guy sitting next to me was chosen to play his dad. Not sure where the others chosen were sitting originally. Unlikely that it was on stage, though some on stage do get some additional interaction potential at certain points.

He’s running around passing out cards to read basically as soon as doors open about 30 minutes before the show, and he uses that time and interactions to pick out who he’s going to choose for larger roles, so it’ll vary a bit I’m sure. The night I went he initially gave me a card to read about 10-15 minutes after doors opened, and then asked me about a larger part at almost the time the show was supposed to start, which it actually started about 15 minutes late. Not sure if that was normal or if it can just depend on how many people maybe say no before getting a yes. I’m sure a lot can depend on the audience. I would say just make sure you get there early and don’t have your nose stuck in your phone/playbill.

Is anything rumored to be at the Hudson this fall? I'm just curious if EVERY BRILLIANT THING will close end of June or if it will extend starring another celebrity for 4-5 weeks.
