Honestly, good for her!
There could be much easier shows for someone to make their Broadway debut in and the fact that everyone lately has been grabbing the brass rings of OH MARY and EVERY BRILLIANT THING tells me that there are actors who want to be challenged when they come to Broadway and that gives me hope for the medium.

I would love to see Ellis Ross in this. I just love her.

A 2027 national tour has been announced, launching in Seattle.
I absolutely LOVE this news. As it is, non-musicals don’t often tour, and I hope this inspires some others to do so in the future.

When was the last time a one person show had a tour?

What The Constitution Means To Me? That's the last one that I remember.

Feels like a show that NEEDS a dynamo to play the one and only role. Feels like dynamo-types aren't keen on touring North America. Taxing show with a taxing travel schedule. Will be HIGHLY curious who they can pull to do this show.

Saw this last night, and I adored every second. Daniel Radcliffe's ability to effortlessly exude copious amount of charisma, warmth, and charm simply blew me away. Just a really, really special show. I'm glad I caught this before he leaves.

I saw this last night, too
Was this even a show?
Daniel Radcliffe running around for an hour 15. With very little pay off at the end.
What a rip off - At outrageous prices.

I thought it was the most beautiful show I’ve seen in years. Different strokes, I guess.

not sure if you all know it, but there was a taping in New York City around 12 years ago of the original staging with Jonny Donahoe, the co-author, for HBO. You can find it under HBO Documentaries and I think on YouTube as well. It runs an hour and is quite charming, although I can see how Radcliffe probably kicked it up a notch or 6 with his innate charisma and star power.

The version on HBO is a great look at the material, though I found I didn't click with it on the screen and put off seeing it until pretty late in Radcliffe's run because I wasn't particularly enticed. Seeing Radcliffe perform it live was mesmerizing. The improv aspect really can't be captured in a proshot. I'm very curious how the energy changes with Hargitay.

As Hargitay lost her mother at a young age and could have died herself, she will have a different (unique?) connection to the material. The list will be more for her and what she imagines her mother would have liked.

Hargitay is such a fascinating choice. Before SVU she considered herself a comedic actor and was with The Groundlings. I think this show specifically allows her to show some of those chops we don’t really know her for, while still using her Law & Order work to show an emotional connection to the material.

Really looking forward to hearing all about Mariska tonight.
That is interesting what you just shared, ggersten, and it should add another layer of warmth and generosity to her performance in this one.

Saw the matinee today.
It's running longer than it did with Daniel for anyone planning a fast turnaround. We were out around 3:45 with a 2pm start.

And was it good, bad, indifferent.

If you want to see Mariska onstage, you won't be disappointed. After seeing Daniel, I felt like it was a completely different show with Mariska, and one that reminded me that I don't particularly like the material.

I saw Mariska tonight. I was not familiar with the show at all. I thought she put on a great performance. I agree with the opinion that there is little payoff at the end. We had good audience participants tonight, but I could see the show drag if you had bad ones.
