Sorry if this a double post, but I'm heading to NYC Saturday with my mom and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on the easier rushes or lottos! Thanks!

Peter and the Starcatcher lotto was not too difficult for me, and in my opinion, it's the best new show of the season. Good luck!

Peter & the Starcatcher was pretty crowded on Monday, though. But Rent was not that night—about 20 people for 16 tickets I think? And they had $40 lotto loser seats.

I've done Peter lotto either for myself or friends 3 or 4 times, and each time everyone who entered won. These were all weekends, and one was after the Tony nominations were announced. Good luck!

I'd watch the timing on Rent because a lot of the BoM lotto losers go straight there after.

Porgy and Bess is incredibly easy as its at 5 for evening shows and 12 for matinees so you don't need to get there really hardly and tickets are easy to come by.

Peter and the Starcatcher seats are partial view, I believe. I was one of only two groups that lost the lottery when I went. On a weeknight. Before the Tony noms. Very upsetting. But I hit up TKTS and paid $67 for excellent seats, so whatever. It was worth it; it's an excellent show.

Mondays must be much different then! I guess because there's only a few shows that night. But while I'm terrible at guessing how many people are in a given place, I'd say there were probably at least 100 at Peter on Monday?

my 'Peter' lotto seat was partial view, but i think i literally missed about 1 or 2 minutes of the show total, so it wasn't a big deal at all.

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on easy rushes/lottos recently. I have two friends who are coming to NY this weekend, and we are planning to go to the flea market this Sunday. We are probably not going to line up before noon for any rush tickets. So I am wondering if there are any shows with relatively easy rushes that we can grab tickets for in the afternoon, or easy lotteries we can try. Thanks for any input!

As far as a shows-I know Matilda lotto has been really easy lately and Cinderella rush almost never has anyone there when the box office opens. If/Then usually has lotto losers for $5 more if they don't win.

Thanks ILuv2shop! We ended up winning lotto tickets to Matilda, and it was a great. Totally unrelated, but the traffic in Manhattan yesterday was unbearable! I planned to be at the flea market at 1 PM, but did not make it there till after 4. So crazy... Overall though, it was a pretty good day.

Bumping this thread.  For next Saturday(June 6) matinee, from current experiences what is the recommendation for an easy rush or standing ticket for the new shows?  Student rush and 30 and under are n/a.   I cannot get to the box office until probably 10:15. Rush Report hasn't reported since May 17 and is usually too general.  So looking for more current experiences.  (The Visit, Curious Incident, Gigi, On the Town, On The Twentieth Century, Fun Home, and King And I ...I have tickets already or have already seen)  Much thanks for any suggestions.

I'm assuming you're only talking about shows from this season.

It Shoulda Been You should be fairly easy. American in Paris and Finding Neverland apparently are harder, i.e. you have to be there early and AiP is only limited view seating. Something Rotten is an online lottery, so I have no clue what the chances are. My friend and I both entered for a week and a half or so before we won.

IMHO 1015 is going to be too late to score rush tickets. Something Rotten has both online and at the theater rush BTW

ArtMan: honestly, 10:15 is going to be pretty tough to impossible to score a rush seat. You are trying to get tickets the day before the Tonys, so rush lines will be even longer than usual. I always advise getting to the theatre one hour before the box office opens for rush. If you qualify for TDF, youll have time to sign up and buy tix before you come to the city. Wolf Hall Part One, It Shoulda Been You, and Airline Highway currently have their saturday matinees available on that site ($39-45). An american in Paris has inexpensive full priced tickets in the Balcony, but waiting til the day of to buy them (the day before the Tonys) is not advisable. 

 

Edit: I just rememberd Something Rotten has cheap Balcony tickets too. $35. But again, I definitely would not risk waiting to buy them day of given the date you want to attend.
