I adore Eddie but the only time I've seen him live was his book tour. Sadly, he seemed totally unsure of himself and it was not very funny. If this new material is up to his old standards, I'd definitely go.
Haterobics: THANK YOU for posting about this! I'd have never known about it otherwise, and tonight I saw the first performance (5th row!). My cheeks still hurt from laughing & smiling so much, and Eddie was in great shape (running multiple marathons in heels will do that). When it's set, the show will be called "Wunderbar" - when it tours or shows up on tv, it's definitely worth seeing!
"What- and quit show business?" - the guy shoveling elephant shit at the circus.
I was there as well, Ironman. Yes, Eddie is looking quite fine - you do know that he was joking about running in heels, I hope?

The only thing you need to be worried about is getting a ticket. He was pure genius, and this after a rocky start. His mike burst into loud static the second he walked onto the stage. It was fixed quickly, and the show was brilliant. He was having fun, very sure of himself, and I think would have gone on for awhile, then he suddenly seemed to realize that he had a second show to do.
Glad people went and enjoyed themselves. I was on the fence about posting it, so guess that was the right decision.
I get to see him on October 2, when he comes to my town on tour (not the new material, it's his Believe Me tour, which sort of walks through his career and such)
Saw his late show last night and enjoyed it! I found his line of thought to be a little difficult to follow - I frequently found myself thinking "how did we get to this topic?" or "what is this in reference to?" but his delivery was always hilarious even when I was a little lost.

That is why you paid less to be in an intimate venue, to help him polish the act and tighten the throughlines.

I know! I’m not saying I feel cheated, and I’m not trying to insult him. I’m just expressing my critiques as they are. Maybe he or his people will read this board and take my constructive criticism into consideration. I don’t know, but like you said, the point is to find what’s needs improvement, and IMO that’s one of those things.
