Posted: 6/29/11 at 7:57pmAny idea were Elf could land this holiday season if it is indeed returning?? The Richard Rodgers was just taken, perhaps the Nederlander??

I was just wondering this myself.
What larger houses are left?
Belasco? Brooks Atkinson (which isn't very large at all)?
Maybe if Brooke doesn't keep The Addams Family going they'll take the Lunt?

These houses have nothing officially announced as of yet:
Nederlander
Cort
Longacre
Barrymore
Belasco
Kerr
Golden
The Palace, Lunt-Fontanne, Neil Simon and/or Broadhurst could be possibilities if their tenants don't make it past Labor Day.

^ Unless one of those last four houses opens up, I doubt ELF will come back to a considerably smaller theater than they had before.

Will the Marquis still be taken by Follies?
Thats an ideal location for anything season or tour related that you wanna sell some tickets too. Also its a decent house.

Yes. Follies is scheduled to run until December 31. So, unless it's a complete flop, the Marquis will not be available.

I think it's hard to tell what theater it will go in at this point. It's only going to be taking
space for 3 months at the most, so I'm sure it will be a last minute addition. I wonder if the cast will be the same or if they'll try and get the same people?

Posted: 6/30/11 at 1:00pmwell considering that Elf was nearly sold-out for it's short run last year I would imagine the producers would want it to return. Could the Nederlander work??
Elf 2011#10
Posted: 6/30/11 at 3:55pmIt was only a "sell out" hit during Christmas. The first couple of weeks it wasn't doing so great. But maybe now that it has a run under its belt, it will pull more people in. I don't see why they shouldn't run it from November until the end of January.

Posted: 8/10/11 at 5:59pmIf Priscilla doesn't last, will the Palace be taken? Or will it be occupied for Evita?
Elf 2011#13
Posted: 8/10/11 at 6:28pmIt could certainly take The Neil Simon and be out by the time JCS needs to move in.

Posted: 8/10/11 at 6:29pmIs every really that excited for Elf to come back? It was a hit financially, but I remember really mixed reviews on BWW.

Posted: 8/10/11 at 7:15pmMy friend saw it and said it was really cute (besides a few jokes that really should not have been included). I would be interested in seeing it this season.

Posted: 8/10/11 at 10:28pmPlus Elf was at the Al Hirschfeld which is a Jujamcyn theater... would it have to be in a Jujamcyn theater?
Elf 2011#17
Posted: 8/13/11 at 5:21pmElf is not happening this year. It would have to go in a nederlander theater

I had no desire to see it last year, my KIDS had no desire to see it. I'm not even bringing it up this year.
Interesting question about it having been in a Jumacyn theater. I wonder if they have "dibs" on it should they have anything available. If that's the case, I would assume certain perameters have been established as to what would be acceptable or not.
