See? He's a genius!
*waves arms*
I thought Adam did a nice job, particularly in the very final scene. I will add fuel to that important ongoing debate and say that I didn't like his hair, once I saw the full film. I thought it was - sort of emasculating -- and his wig in the April flashbacks was...bad. Rest of the costume/hair was great.
I made peace with the hair long ago. And I still love it (except when it was blowing in the wind). But it is indeed extremely important.
I think it would have worked longer if he didn't have wavy hair. It just...really did look like Farrah Faucet or the Cowardly Lion -- maybe they should have taken a straightening iron to it.

Oh god.
Have you ever seen it flat-ironed? The way it is in the movie is something in between -- it was obviously toyed with -- but I've never really liked his hair flat-ironed. Unfortunatley I don't have any greatly demonstrative photos, but:
See? This is where we get to the IMPORTANT issues.
oh my.....

I never really thought Adam was hot until I saw that picture.
Well its better flat ironed...If he had like Viggo Mortinson hair it would have totally worked long

Speaking of the final scene, I'm NOT asking for spoilers...but...please tell me the Mimi part of it works better than the show? A simple yes or no will do. :) It is one of two places (the other: you? me? you? mimi...") that makes me roll my eyes a little when I see it.
I certainly think so; Rosario's reading of it is really good.
yes, it works better
Yes, Rosario is the ONLY person I've ever seen who makes that last scene works (and I saw Rubin Vega at least 5 times in the role).
I sorely dislike Adam's hair flat-ironed. I prefer the Jungle boy wild. XD

Emcee, your review gave me chills. Thank you for that, you've made me so much more excited.
Well then I'll throw in a different thank you Em...for randomly coming down w/ a bad case of insomnia the same night I did and entertaining me.
*hug* you know I love you
heh. One of the first things I said before I FINALLY came home last night was "well, now I can sleep!" And I did. And it was so niiiice.
Really? Back in the days before we knew of advanced screenings and were planning to see a midnight show and then drive home to our counties when we thought you were coming home from Thanksgiving break, we agreed the night after, I'd have no problem driving back so late b/c there's no way after seeing the movie that either of us would sleep. Part of the reason I was also surprised to see sleeping in your away message last night  felt more like an exhausting climax/end than the experience you couldn't get out of your mind? or had it been on your mind so much you needed sleep? LOL. Hmm.
Well, I always like to look at the bright side and you know I wanted to see it well Friday, fortunately the wait isn't driving me crazy like it was you and I'm just super excited so even though it's hard I still get a week of super excitedness, it's a rather nice state to be in.
Em- Like many others I was waiting for your post. I have not read any other reviews and probably will not read any because I want to make up my own mind. But I felt the need to read yours because I knew that this movie means SO MUCH to you and that you would be honest. You wrote an BRILLIANT post and I thank you for sharing your opinions with us.
I know it has been said before but you should definitely look into journalism, you would be fantastic
Hey--the movie means the world to me, and I was perfectly honest as well.
Anyway, Emcee, very nicely written review. You know where I stand as far as feeling on how this film came out, but you wrote a great review.

His hair is a little Farrah-esque, but I still love him to pieces. He actually has very pretty hair...
Well, wrq -- I was (a) sleep deprived, and (b) out until 1:30 in the morning. My friends and I got a cab home, and I almost fell asleep in the back seat.
I'm still chuckling that we ultimately talk about the hair.
