In our latest Broadway casting announcement for returning shows, lead producers of SIX have confirmed that the entire original cast at the time of the shutdown will be returning to their roles at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.
The ensemble piece includes Adrianna Hicks as Catherine of Aragon, Andrea Macasaet as Anne Boleyn, Abby Mueller as Jane Seymour, Brittney Mack as Anna of Cleves, Samantha Pauly as Katherine Howard, and Anna Uzele as Catherine Parr.
In addition, a fourth alternate has been added to the cast: Chicago-based Keirsten Hodges, who will be making her B'way debut. She joins Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert, Mallory Maedke, and Courtney Mack.
As previously announced, SIX will resume previews at the Atkinson on September 17 and have their long-awaited opening night on October 3.

Discussion online implies that the London production has the alternates go on regularly. It sounds like each of them has a planned appearance around twice a week. Does anyone know if there are particular days or times that more typically have alternates, or particular performances that are unlikely to have alternates? Although I'm sure the alternates are great, there are some of the cast whom I'd like to see specifically, and I would also like to see the cast that's worked together the most if possible to get that chemistry.
It seems like ever since this show went back on sale, the first four rows of the orchestra weren't released. I know some shows have reserved the first rows for possible Covid restrictions and I'm assuming this is one of them. Has there been any word (official or rumor) on if and or when those tickets might be being released?
Equity rules still state that distance between audience and cast needs to be six feet, so I doubt it will be any time soon.
Bob, it definitely won't happen within the first few months of Broadway being open considering the current Covid rules are until October 31st. But, they keep releasing new dates for that show often so I think you'll have good luck scoring a decent seat.

They've just released seats in the third and fourth rows for many of the performances.
Yeah, they just released the third and fourth rows for tons of performances. Great options. Tickets are $279 - 299. Enjoy!

The third row is row B, for reference. There is a Row AA at the Atkinson, which is closed for the time being (alongside Row A) because of COVID safety precautions.
It says row B, so I'm pretty sure people can read that for themselves. No need to "clear it up" for anyone here.

I'm actually surprised the entire cast is returning. I recall shortly before the show started previews that one of the queens -- I believe the woman who plays Katherine of Aragon -- was posting on social media that she was in favor of conversion therapy or something like that. I thought for sure the producers would use Covid as an excuse to get rid of her.

Adrianna Hicks liked a few Instagram posts that had a vague religious quotes on them, nothing correlating to gay conversion. Although, the account led to conversion organization Adrianna herself does not believe in it. She quickly apologized and removed the likes.

You are asking about NY right? The show did not run long enough yet for any kind pattern for alternatives to be possibly formed. All three of them (before the 4th was added) did go on in previews at least once, but the union on Broadway vs the West End is going to see things running DRASTICALLY different.
From my understanding, the West End alternates are given X amount of shows per week as a sure thing. Which is why the alts are on so much. There was even a show last week where all 6 queens were played by Alts. That will not be so on Broadway. The 6 leading actresses are contacted to perform 8 shows a week and the alternates are all swings on standby for the usual call outs or scheduled leaves.
Also different, the Broadway alts cannot cover all tracks like the West End. Equity rules state that a swing track can cover no more than 5 "leading" roles. And since all 6 queens are leading, each Alt on Broadway has one queen they will not cover. Also in equity rules, they must be given the same costumes as the leading actresses, so no alt costumes. Each alt on Broadway will have her own copy of the 5 costumes she covers.

Appropriate timing for this because previews resume in six weeks. LOVE the closeup shots.
Scarlet Leigh, thank you for your insight and clarification about how things are planned to work on Broadway. It sounds like there might be an alternate on every so often, but it won't be a regular occurrence like it is in London.
i wonder if they’ll do a cast recording, i haven’t seen them live but saw a slime tutorial of them and really enjoyed all 6 of them

If anything, I would like a live Broadway cast recording of this one. I wish portions of those first several performances back can be captured for the album, I'm sure the audience energy will be insane. It would also give off the impression that the royals are actually doing a concert (as they explain). It's that shared experience with others we have all been missing for months now.
We are soooooooo looking forward to this!!!

I'm an usher at the Brooks and we had a lot of audience members in 2020 during previews who had seen the London cast and quite a few said that while the other cast was amazing, this was by far the best cast ever.
If they don't make a recording, it would be a shame. Especially after the 18 months break, they deserve their own.

Thanks for this interesting insight. I was wondering if this is specific to SIX in the UK or if it’s the same with other shows? It seems like every time I go on YouTube there’s a new video of a Megasix where someone has been called in as an emergency cover.
