Erin Mackey Continues Glinda run, yet AGAIN! Meredith Kaye Clark set to replace TEAL WICKS

According to Teal, Meredith Kaye Clark is set to replace her in the San Francisco production in February. Joining Ms. Clark will also be Erin Mackey who left the Broadway production early due to the fact that she will replace Kendra Kassebaum. This was apparently why they asked her to join Broadway for 5 months.

Congrats to Meredith, but why do we need another recycled recycle cast member? I mean, Natalie Daradich is just as good?!

WOW that was uncalled for Nick.

As for the OP. It's a paycheck and a steady job plus they both love the role. Why do you think that Julie Reiber keeps coming back even though she gets screwed over all the time!? She LOVES the role and it's a paycheck!

Don't believe everything that you hear! Only the peeps involved know the truth!

I don't even understand why this is a discussion. The casting of a show isn't about you, the fans (unless it's stunt casting). They "recycle" actors because it's far easier to do that than to hire brand new actors and start from scratch. As long as there are people who know the roles and are willing to continue in them, it's wiser and, frankly, makes more sense to use them. It's a business. As long as the creatives feel that the actors are doing their jobs well, they're not going to go through the hassle of finding and teaching someone completely new if they don't need to.

What I also don't understand is why it's a bad thing to be consistently employed by this show. These actors have been fortunate enough to land a steady job, something not-so-common in theater. The money is clearly good, so they choose to stick around. If they really don't want to be there, they can choose to walk away and go back to auditioning until they find the next short-term gig... but they choose not to. I'm just not clear why people speak as if once they're hired, they're stuck, as if they couldn't leave even if they tried.

But it's true. Julie may come back to the role but it isn't all she does. She does concerts & is working on a CD. Name 2 things Dee has done since joining Wicked.

Dee was very original when I saw her, not my cup of tea, but not nearly as horrid as everyone on here makes her out to be. I like and try to appreciate every actress I see.

Erin Mackey's been cast in a new Broadway show that begins in the spring, so I'm not sure where these rumors are coming from.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Um, I've heard a very very different story about who's replacing Teal in San Francisco. As of Friday, nothing was set in stone and Merideth Kaye Clark was not the name being tossed around. I'd be pretty surprised if they could get contracts negotiated, written, and signed in time for this to be a confirmed story today.

Well, it's another recycle (though, some might argue, a more interesting one). And again, it's a work in progress, so it could fall through and then maybe SF will get Merideth. Or someone else. I'm just saying it's a little premature to be announcing for sure because I doubt anyone's got a contract yet.

^I hope you're truthful and serious. I've always wanted to see Kendra, and I haven't been able to get down to San Fran in the last year, but Im going in February. I was sad that I heard Kendra's contract was up in January, but if it's not now, that makes me happy re: Erin Mackey Continues Glinda run, yet AGAIN! Meredith Kaye Clark set to
