Nice to see Cheyenne Jackson working again.
But...really?
They're taking a huge risk moving into the St. James; it's a pretty big theater. I wish them nothing but the best though.
Finally, ah Broadway revival. I wonder how this one will sell.
thanks!! yeah, the St. James is way too big for this. I don't see it selling all that well.
LOVED this show at Encores. I hope it gets a new recording! (and maybe a few cast changes)

Least it's not DAMN YANKEES.
well this is a pleasant surprise!
Wonderful news! So no Minsky's at the St. James after all...
I am personally very excited for this. How wonderful to have such an amazing score sung nightly on Broadway again! What a pleasant and welcome surprise.

How about that...
Wait...were the reviews really that good?
So effervescent productions of Follies and On the Town do not transfer...but this does?
...after some quick research: I guess the reviews were pretty good. Who knew?

Great news!!!
FOLLIES really should have transferred...
I seriously can't imagine any NON-theatre-queens-who've-listened-to-this-cast-album-over-and-over-again-and-eagerly-awaited-a-new-production having much interest in seeing this, and/or seeing it and feeling it's something they're thrilled they saw and must recommend to friends.

Who knows. Kiss Me, Kate was a hit, and that show was basically forgotten and then made new again.
Made my day! Here's hoping that Baldwin, Norton, Jackson and Bobb (unless they get Leo Butz) stay with the production.
While I did love the show at Encores!, I do not think it will sell well at the St. James.
"Kiss Me Kate" was a fun, accessible, escapist harkening back to a former era, with relevant-if-generic themes.
This is about a leprechaun who turns an old racist man into a gospel-singing negro. And there's a mute girl who dances her feelings. I really doubt this will strike a chord with anyone who's not a theatre diehard familiar with the show.
jewishboy, Butz is doing CATCH ME IF YOU CAN.
Whatever ever happened with the planned "Fela!" transfer?
Kind of OT, but still in the vein of this thread.
