Can we discuss it some more? Or does a thread from July mean it is not allowed? This last casting news was just released officially yesterday.
So happy Ethan Slater is finding work!!!!!
:)
This sounds incredible, and needs to air ASAP.
I’m interested to see Barrett as Minnelli. Osnes is a great choice for MacLaine.
Marroquin as Rivera will be delightful.
Every new announcement keeps elevating this project plus Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon’s daughter Nicole (who handles their estate) is supervising and permitting all the original choreography to be featured. This project is fully authorized by the Fosse/Verdon Estate.
This. Casting. Is. EVERYTHING. EVVVVEEERRRYYYTHING!
This sounds phenomenal. The legacy of Fosse/Verdon n I da to be appreciated, studied, honored and preserved. I am so looking forward to it.
Brilliant casting all around. I am SO excited about this!
Ha, Brantley pretty much called Ethan as Joel Grey at the end of his Spongebob review. So happy for Ethan!

Super excited to see Michelle Williams (as Gwen) and Bianca Marroquin (as Chita) in the section focusing on the rehearsals of the original 1975 Broadway production of CHICAGO which was a pivotal time for Bob Fosse as he suffered his first heart attack during that period which shutdown rehearsals while he recouperated.

Brody, I’m really excited about that section too, especially with Williams and Marroquin (wonder who will play Jerry Orbach). I love the way Fosse portrayed it in ALL THAT JAZZ. It’ll be fascinating seeing it portrayed from a different perspective.
Thrilled to report they began filming last week. Can not wait until on-set photos start surfacing online to get our first glimpse of the cast in costume.
Here we go, folks. Co-Executive Producer Nicole Fosse with Michelle Williams and Sam Rockwell. If anything, Williams does have the Verdon smile.

Thanks for this. A friend’s bf joined the Art Direction Dept last week so I assumed that’s when filming started.

This cast is AMAZING. I'm glad to see it have the backing of Nicole Fosse. This will add some legitimacy.
When it was first announced, I realized how much Michelle Williams looks like Verdon. All of the casting has been spot-on, both with getting people with theatre experience, as well as getting people who look a lot like their real-life counterparts. I’m so excited for this.

Does MIchelle dance as Verdon??? Will she be doubled?

I hope she does have a dance double. I'm sure Michelle will still work hard to have that dancer's look and to carry herself like one, but no matter had good of a dancer she is, I think one has to be a professional-level dancer to dance like Verdon. I think it's important that we see why people were so enamored with Verdon, the triple threat.
Just found out a friend of mine was cast in this. Now i really can't wait to see it.
Sounds exciting - any mention/ rumor of a possible air date ?
