Wow, that's pretty marvelous casting. I have no desire to see the show anymore, but Prince almost makes me want to see it. She will be pretty wonderful in a completely different mold from Sherrie and Heidi.

Well, Ursula is HIGHLY underwritten in the show. They need top-notch actresses with powerhouse vocals to play her or else she falls flat on her face. They just happened to have chosen three AMAZING women who could steal scenes playing a tree.

I'm incredibly excited to see Prince in the role. But not before I see more Heidi.

I am both shocked and thrilled by this news. Faith Prince will be very different than Sherie and Heidi, but I'm sure equally as wonderful. Can't wait to see her as Ursula!!

Wow. That casting came out of nowhere, but it sounds brilliant. She'll be spectacular. I saw the show for the first time last week and LOVED Heidi. I'll definitely be back to see Prince though

They aren't letting Heidi go. She signed a contract only through April 5th. I have a feeling that this deal with Faith Prince has been in the works for a while now...we are all just hearing about it today!

It was always planned that Heidi would leave on April 5th. She was only cast to fill the time gap. However, she's absolutely incredible and makes you forget how small of a role Ursula really is.

Faith Prince has been the desired replacement for Ursula by the producers for quite a while.

She had an extended concert engagement in Florida from February 10th through February 21st that left her unavailable for a significant gap of time after Sherie Rene Scott's departure.

Rather than put Prince in the show and then have to pull her out for such a big break, Heidi Blickenstaff was brought in for a limited time until Prince's schedule allowed her to maintain a full run.

I never would have expected this, but I'm oddly pleased with it. Can we just get her something decent? A Catered Affair and now The Little Mermaid? Oh well, I'm happy none the less.

...and so interested to see if this [tos] reopening comes to fruition.

Do you think she'll use the same costume and wig? Or will it be reworked for her?

I agree with all of you that faith will be a great ursula. the show still needs work with the costumes especially flounder, and get rid of the wheelies. we will all miss heidi....maybe she has something in the works.
