Thank you Beyonce-Lover for the opportunity to critique Beyonce's offering of the Star-Spangled-Banner.

It was formula-matic and plastic, just like she is...and she just can't help it. I have heard mannequins with more soul. It is also the worst kind of attempted soul portrayal - fake. There is a stiffness in Beyonce's vocal runs that almost defies belief. The goal of these vocal runs that Beyonce attempts is extemporaneous sounds of controlled, yet free emotion. But the less than masterful execution of these careless runs as performed by B renders them completely useless(obtrusive even). Beyonce vocalizations are mechanical and staged...and trained ears can hear that right away. It is a flat out perversion...and further, it highlights Beyonce's ignorance as to the origins of such vocalizations and firmly places her mimicking in the category of sacrilege.

On these grounds I submit that Deanna be recast as Alicia Keys. Alicia is the greater musician, singing-actress, personality and exponentially more real; and as a bonus Alicia has just as much Barbie Doll appeal as mannequin B.

I just noticed something, the person who started yet another anti-fantasia message (ellenoshalom), has only been a member here for TWO whole days.

Again, why is it accepted when someone clearly joins to bash fantasia or post false, yet it is not accepted when a member who has been here longer wants to chime in for Fantasia? Why are you anti-fantasia people so against anyone who wants her in this role. IT is clear that is the case since you are welcoming new members in who don't like her.

It is clear that I was stalked for a while simply because I posted for fantasia as effie and I've been here longer. Yet, I was accused of joining to "promote" fantasia when I have yet to start any threads at all. The only people I have seen starting threads and opening accounts to promote are people who are against her as effie. They have clearly made accounts and started threads for them. I have yet to do that, I have just joined in on threads already created.

I believe Fantasia will not be cast as Effie...not because she is an okay singer but...because she has a illiterate problem and they are still searching for the Effie role.

No need for the rude tone. I am relatively new to the Broadway scene but I would like a chance to weigh in on this discussion, which is pretty contentious. Fantasia is someone I'd like to see in this role.

ljay889, see you are stalking a new member, you posted right on his/her butt simply because they are for fantasia as effie. Why didn't you ask the topic starter why she joined to discuss fantasia? You have proven my point, you are fine and dandy as long as they aren't in support of.

I will be staying, I just wanted to call you all out on these. I won't return to this thread, a waste of my time.

I love Broadway. It is this thread that is questionable. Why start such a negative thread about Fantasia, who is the heiress apparent to the throne of Effie? She is bigger than life and would kick this otherwise paltry production into high gear.

TheTruth, whipsnirt's post is precisely why Team Fantasia keeps getting bashed. It's not enough for Team Fantasia to say they hope Fantasia gets the role. Instead they insist she already has the role (when she doesn't) and they insult others to elevate Fantasia (and it backfires). There are a lot of talented people involved in this film and to insult them and insist they need Fantasia is distasteful and insane. This kind of crap from Team Fantasia has been going on for months and people are tiring of it. How many people are they going to alienate while they push for Fantasia? People will stop bashing Team Fantasia when THEY learn stop bashing every other talented performer involved or rumored to be involved with the movie.
