Posted: 2/1/09 at 7:09amI still don't understand why Sunday in the Park With George got NO Tony awards.

Posted: 2/2/09 at 6:27pmi hated the set for Spring Awakening...it felt like a cheap imitation of 'Rent'. It was void of any mood or emotion. Thank God the lighting was so good.

Posted: 2/2/09 at 6:41pmI just felt like everyone in involved with Spring Awakening thought "wow, we're being so different and edgy," but they did things for no reason. like having them come from "underground" was a stupid choice. It broke the whole idea of the set. Everything else was very functional - chairs, mics, etc - the trap doors just seemed excessive.

There were holes in the ground where hands poked out, and they used them very cleverly throughout the show:

Posted: 3/30/09 at 7:09amI love the Hair set. I wish they could win something for their awesome set but there isn't much too it, but what is there is incredible.

Posted: 3/30/09 at 11:59amI wish they had moved the stage back, instead of thrusting it out a little. The added thrust makes it so the people in the mezz. can't see the orchestra seating at all, therefore limiting our view of the audience interaction in the beginning.

Posted: 3/30/09 at 1:06pmThe HAIR set is brilliant. I love how everyone couldn't conceive of how they would transfer their concept from the park. Brilliant.

Posted: 4/15/09 at 6:06pm33 Variations looks overwhelming but it's not that in the theater. McLane (who did the sets right?) loves that lacey looking backdrop. He used the same thing in Becky Shaw.
