<----- still the most expensive set ever on Broadway. This weekend spoke to a producer friend of mine (who also said that both SPIDERMAN and LOVE NEVER DIES are budgeted to supercede it) who confirmed it to me, as I thought it had been outdone (DOTV was 2002-3 after all). Not yet.

Anyone know how to make these pictures show up in the post? FAQ is incredily unhelpful on this.

And for something a little more current and closer to home for some of us, the current production of Camelot at the Goodspeed (and also because the designer is a friend of mine).

Posted: 7/17/09 at 1:51amRagtime looks interesting...just going off of those pictures, I wish the set transformed a bit more from scene to scene...
re: Favorite Set Designs#341
Posted: 7/17/09 at 10:53amYeah, I agree BrianIdol. It's a really pretty set, but I would imagine after 2 1/2 hours, it gets a little stagnant.

I love the God of Carnage set.
This was the best pic I could find
re: Favorite Set Designs#343
Posted: 7/17/09 at 11:04amI always loved the stage design of "Aida". The swimming pool, the river... just beautiful.

re: Favorite Set Designs#344
Posted: 7/18/09 at 2:10amWhy would you like "God of Carnage." A) I thought the play was rather trite, and that they were trying to make it something bigger and better than it was. B) the set - with the exception of the white "picture frame," which was a rather obvious choice - looked like a standard community theater/dinner theater production type set. For the amount of money involved in the production it wasn't detailed, nor even that well designed.
re: Favorite Set Designs#345
Posted: 7/18/09 at 2:17amI absolutely love that set design for Un Ballo

A repertory double production of "Hedda Gabler" and "A Doll's House" from Temple University grad student Cory Palmer a couple years ago (I'm hyper-biased, but this is an amazing set.)
When pictures are available, they'll be posted.

WOW! Those sets for Camelot and Ragtime are awesome! Would love to have the chance to see that live!
And that Bregenz Festival...amazing!
My humble two, compared to those...A Tale of Two Cities, and The Little Mermaid (becuase of the effects, and I liked it better than Wicked...).

Thanks, Scott, for starting this thread...it is awesome!
Came back to say I forgot the first one that came to mind for me (that I have seen), "Phantom"...my memory stills loves to remember...
Oh, and BroadwayKing09, thanks for slippping some from "Little Women" in there!
